Mounting suggestions, remote winch controller

I’ve had this lying around for awhile and need to get it mounted. Thought I’d take a stab at it today but I need some input.



First problem, the connectors do not appear to be waterproofed. I suppose I could pack it with some dielectric grease. The coiled black cable, which attaches to the winch, is roughly 7’ long. Superwinch website recommended putting the reciever in the cab. Maybe it’d fit behind the glove box? No idea how to get the giant plug through the passenger side firewall though. Just looking for some ideas on where and how to mount this. What say you, you Tundra geniuses?

 

You know I have a winch on the way so I can’t be sure but I thought you never had any of that stuff plugged up until you ready to use it and it’s one or the other. I suspect there’s a plug in spot on the winch you either use the remote or the manual when you decide to use it.

 

If you’re looking to get the receiver in the cab I suggest cutting the wire and splicing it back together in the cab of the truck.

 

There’s no reason to bring it in the cab when there’s a remote.

 

the corded controller doesn't give me enough length to stand somewhere that makes me comfortable when using the winch. the remote controller would since it has a 100' range.

that's probably the best bet.

the instructions, both in the box and online, say that the best place for the receiver is in the cab. to me, the connectors do not appear to be built to withstand the elements of being in the engine bay. so, in the cab makes sense but they made it a bit complicated to get it there.
