    Hi guys,

How much off the MRSP is a good deal percentage wise?

If the MSRP is $56,500 what is a good deal ‘grab it’ price?

It’s a 2018 Platinum with extras. It’s been used by the manager right now so it has been taken off the lot and has 200+ miles on it

Well a good deal on a limited with premium package is 43 to 44k .so if you can get it around 48 to 49k .that would be a good deal

What would the difference then be with a platinum Vs limited with premium package?

If I remember correctly you get better seats heated and cooled and seat memory and a few other gadgets inside. Normally bumpers and grills will be color matched on platinums as well . Also rims . Platinums normally have 20inch rims

They came from $56,500 to $51,500 and said that’s their absolute best. I was hoping for a $50,000 all in out the door price.
Even at the 0.9% rate 60 months that’s mid $900’s per month

Maybe do some online shopping and see if a dealer within a few hours of you can get a better price .

I am looking for a platinum though with some extras.

Just wondered what others got knocked off the MSRP to see how much room there is for negotiation

I was able to get $6k ($54k out the door) off on my 18 platinum which included a Line X bed liner, Borland exhaust, safe in console, all weather mats (which I removed for Husky)and running boards. Overall, I was happy with the deal and love the truck.

Was there much haggling or did you feel that you’d taken them as far as you could in negotiating?

There was as it took some discussions to get there. First number was $4500 off. They did the Line X and the weather mats as part of the deal as well.

But to each their own right? I have an sr5 Texas edition and I also think that’s a lot for a car. But to some people they can afford it and do not mind the payments as much as we have to know we are all in different situations

I would say platinum with extras though 50 otd might be doable if you are okay waiting more towards the end of the year.

    It’s a Platinum
Driven by the manager for 200+ miles!
    So is it still new?

And attached are the EXTRA optional items! And they added a spray in liner.

    MSRP was $56,500
OTD price was $55,000, they say their final lowest price

At that point I'd suggest my wife stay at home! We certainly could have ended up paying more but I figured for the first year, I don't need mandarin lessons or other weird new age stuff, just keep her alive please.

    I feel for you buddy...

It’s not. Especially since some dude has been ripping around in it for 200 miles already. I’d tell them you consider it “used”.

I think it’s technically “new” since no one had taken delivery and title has been transferred.

    Yeh I thought the same!
How many miles does it take until it’s considered used!

I mean if a customer took this off the lot and did 200 miles and returned it I’m sure the dealer would be like ‘we can find you another vehicle and credit you minus 10%’

Checked out carsguru today and some dealers listing internet pricing at 12% off MSRP on 2018 SR5s. Not sure about platinums. Rebates may be lower on platinums.

I think it is the title transfer to someone that makes it used. When I bought mine “new” in 2017, I also drove a 2017 certified used that had 600 miles on it but it was used because a guy bought it and brought it back to buy another truck. I wound up almost getting a better deal on the new one so I just did that (and I think resale is better if it is just one owner).

I don’t know if you use Reddit, but this guy was pretty helpful to me:

    https://www.reddit.com/user/Crowing91

He’s a salesman in Philly, I think. He’ll pull up invoice on the vin, and has some good recommendations.

Just over 9% off is a good deal IMO on a Platinum. $56,500 is at the highest end MSRP for a Platinum . The Sr5s and Limited's are much more plentiful than Platinum's so the dealer has more room to deal on them. Most dealers in my area don't even have a Platinum on the lot. I got about 7.5% off of my 17 in Sept, 2016 and was happy with the deal.

I just recently bought the wife a 2018 limited platinum Highlander, the MSRP was $48,100 what i paid was $42,600 then add tax and licensing.
My local dealer would only take roughly $3,000 of MSRP , that was lame considering i had just bought a platinum Tundra from them not to long ago. So i did a little shopping and used Kelly's bluebook to let dealers in my state I'm in the market for a Highlander, the phone began to ring and they would tell me there price then i would tell them what i could get from dealer X for. Long story short for a 2 hour drive i saved $2,287 not buying local.

    Ok!
    Sale agreed!
Was like $51,300 with all the above and added all weather mats and remote start

    Just an FYI
Another dealer had a 2017 NEW 7,500 miles (was a loaner but never registered) didn’t have anywhere near the same options and they wanted $47,000

    Wasn’t worth it
