Picking up my first Tundra next week. What accessories?

I will be picking up my new 2018 Tundra SR5 CM with TRD offroad package in Barcelona Red next week. I am looking for suggestions on what accessories I should purchase.

First thing I need will be steps/nerf bars. I was thinking something all black that stuck out a little so the wife and kids could easily step on them. I am trying to avoid running boards or sliders.

Second thing will be a remote stater, but I need something that will go a little further than factory. I was looking at the 12 volt solutions one but thought there was an add on for extended range? I don't see it listed on their website though.

Other things will be under seat storage, Line-X the bed and a tonneau cover.

Any other suggestions that are must haves or what has and has not worked for others?

Welcome from CO! As far as extended range remote starters? RSG off road.com RSG>>>Remote Starter Guys. They have some that can be used "miles" away if you want to get crazy.

Don’t let these guys build your truck. You will go broke. Look at my signature to see why (and for ideas)

From my research, viper makes a remote start product that should serve most peoples needs, and seems to be a solid all around choice (4806V I believe). Other than that, take some time to get used to the truck, then decide what you want. As mentioned, your head will quickly be filled with things you "need" and your bank account (and wife) will probably notice and not appreciate it :). I may have been guilty of that this time around because my previous two trucks were bone stock from the dealer. This was the "spoil myself" truck.

Toyota did a number of things to address some of the gripes a lot of people on here had, but we each tend to run our own way. It sounds like you have some solid starting ideas! I always thing a small lift/level and tires/wheels makes a Tundra look cocky, so that would be my vote!

If you plan to do any offroading, just get sliders. You won't regret it. And if you have a tonneau cover, a Pop & Lock power tailgate lock is a must.

The pop n lock is a great suggestion. Someone is trying to sell a tailgate on CL for $2,200. Makes the $100 PnL worth it just so no one steals your tailgate.

I will not be doing any offroading in this. Maybe a dirt road but that is it so no need for sliders. I have my 85 pickup with 37s for offroading and I know how that goes as far as money. I may put in the 5100s to help level but that would be about it.

I don't need the remote start right away as the weather is getting warmer, but I would like to install it over the summer so would like some suggestions now. The pop n lock sounds like a good suggestion. The only thing I need right away is the steps. I will do the Line-X and tonneau cover in a few months.

Welcome and congratulations on the new truck. It sounds like you have a good plan with the accessories. Almost everything that I would have suggested. The under seat storage is my favorite mod so far. Bed liner would have been the first though if the truck did not come with it.
Post photos when you get it and as you go along!

I talked myself out of it for the first 5 months I owned my truck, but I just got the Salex console tray and console organizer and wow, they sure do make a big difference! Relatively cheap "mod", too. You get 20% off on Amazon if you order both at once.

Get a driver side handle. Probably the best mod so far. Getting new shoes and headlights at some point, wife willing on the head lights.
