I'm pretty sure the Dayco is Toyota/dealer spec.

I agree with @aramirez73 last, Gates is better than Dayco. So far, I'm super happy with the Continental. I don't think you'll go wrong with either one.

 

Man all I have to worry about is where to put my tundra sticker. But yeah better to have something to do than be sitting around bored I say.

 

Sitting here thinking about it, im gonna try the belt first. It only makes a slight noise when cold then goes away. So ill order the continental belt. Def has lots of good reviews. Thank both of you for your input. This is why i love this forum.

I agree. If I have the option I always buy the Gatorback belts. Usually they are more expensive But I have only read good things about them.

 

Morning all, as some of you know last year my passenger side window was busted out and i had replaced, just got back from corner store I rolled all windows down, coming back I was rolling em up and the passenger side made a loud bang noise and the window will not go up nor down, you can hear to the motor go and bracket go down then I tried up slowly and it pushed the window all way up bit it won't pull it down, this a easy fix?

 

I know how to remove door panel but is it difficult to put window back on anyone have experience with this?

 

That really sucks. Is the 16' any shorter than the 18'? I have a stock 18 and it sits higher than me (I am 6'2). I parked in a 6'6 parking garage a week ago and barley fit in, maybe 1-1.5" to spare.

 

Found the problem... Guess the glue or whatever it is is came undone and not holding...anyone with recommendations on what to use???

I would make sure there is no binding in the channels and that glass moves freely up and down.
Clean the glass surface good with something that wont leave a residue.

 

I just put some grease on the channels at bottom of window mechanism lubed up window channels...but I have several auto stores in my area autozone advance Auto and O'Reilly's

 

Yesterday i put on a little larger rear mud flaps. Today i will try to do the front.

I dont know if i would use grease? Did the original glass get hit. Might have to adjust channel or it could be the last adhesive was not strong enough.

 

Im thinking the adhesive is no dice. Might need to use the ones mentioned above.

 

The OEM glass got busted out, so repair guy put in new glass but it just look like the glue came undone from U clips

Fitment was not/has not been an issue. Was super easy to install.
Theory is that belts that move through multiple large radius' are more apt to crack as they wear (which we've all seen). Those cracks allow for more stretching which ultimately cause belt squeak. Already having the cross cuts, the gatorback style belts should be less likely to have the cracking and stretching and maintain tension longer, thus being less likely to squeak with age.

Plus, the tensioner on our rigs has a pretty fair amount of movement, and has a strong spring load. I new/tighter belt wont hurt a bit!

 

I don't see why not. According to the vid below, the regulator bolt to the plastic piece, which uses adhesive to attach it to the glass.
