It's pretty amazing they gave you a swag bag. "Hey! SB! You're infertile. Here's a shirt and beer to commemorate the fallen soldiers."

Also... Holy hell. Half of the forum is reading this thread. hahahaha

Not that bad. Worst is the needle poke and the aching the 2nd day after.

Had mine disabled 30 years ago. I rested like the doc said and didn't have a problem. When my brother got his done, he felt so good that he cut the grass when he got home. Bad move, he was laid up for more than a week.
Agree, frozen peas will be your best friend for the next few days.

Back then Virginia had a requirement for a mandatory counseling session, mine went like this.

    Doc: How old are you?
    Me: 29
Doc: How many kids you got?
    Me: 2
Doc: Two's a plenty for any man, when do you want to do this, Tuesday or Thursday?

I was thankful that I got the proper counselling to make an informed decision.

The actual procedure probably 15-20 minutes. Went into the room at 9, and was out by 940 with cleaning up and all that.

I had it done a few years back... The Dr said, two things; No pool and no fuckin for a couple days. So I went home, went for a swim and did some fuckin later that night. 2 days later, I had an infection that looked like elephantitis. Two weeks after that, and many antibiotics, I was back to normal and could return to work and function like an adult again.

I had mine done 23 years ago after the birth of my second son. What do I remember... having to shave and it itching like crazy when it grew back. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes start to finish. The nurse was hot. The smell of burning flesh as Dr. Metzler cauterized the ends of the freshly snipped vas deferens. How small the incision was. That it wasn't nearly as bad as I initially thot. How I was happy that I relieved my wife of having to ever worry about birth control. How being able to be completely spontaneous heats things up.:) How no one will ever be able to claim u da baby daddy if you ever find yourself in 'strange' territory. o_O
Also you can freeze some sperm for future use should things change. Just my .02

We just had kid #2 about a month ago and we're 99% sure she's our last. I'm seriously considering getting this done. Just wondering: how does it... uhhh... feel... after the procedure? Can you tell you're shooting blanks?

I was scheduled to get it done 2 weeks ago. The day before I was supposed to go in, the wife called and cancelled the appointment. Said she's not sure now. :help:

    Acording to my doctor...
March madness week is the #1 week to get snipped... Ice the boys and watch the tourney... Send the kids to Grandma's and have the wife serve you at least a little bit for sympathy. It's easy and you don't notice a difference for anything important.

Good luck! My op went about as bad as possible, was out for like a month with an infection. Ice it and chill for the three days, hope all goes well.
