What's your thoughts on it? Would it be beneficial for our Tundras to have one?
This is a video of a VW with direct injection system. It caught a lot of oil after 3K miles.

I had a catch can on my trailblazer SS.
Basically route the PCV valve tube to the catch can before it returns to the intake.

I saw a few pictures on the old forum I was on. It showed the intake being coated with oil.
From my understanding it would affect the octane rating. I installed mine and it would catch a few ounces every thousand miles or so. I don’t know how much it really affects octane, but it felt good not having those vapors coating the inside of my intake manifold. I also hear it’s mostly for supercharged or turbo guys. But it did catch oil nevertheless. If someone offered one on the cheap for the tundra I would probably get it. Because that’s how I am. I know I could make my own but I kind of like it when somebody fabs it specifically to bolt into a nice location.

After watching that video I don’t know what the hell that soup was he was getting out of there! Mine looked like straight oil. That looked like water and chicken soup.

It’s routed from your PCV valve. That takes the vapors from inside your valve covers and route them back into the intake to be burned. What the catch can does is give the vapors time to turn back into a liquid and settle at the bottom of the can allowing cleaner air back into the intake tube.

I bought a cool one off of a dude specifically made for my trailblazer. I want to say I didn’t spend more than $120.
The guy made it out of billet aluminum. It would be sweet if one of our ingenious members here made one with a TRD logo on the top.:spending:

I have the radium dual catch cans but they’re pricey. We had the owner from RXP give us the rundown of his can and I’d say they have the best system. If I didn’t already have the radium I’d 100% pick up the RXP kit. 65796400-0330-4183-A775-6ED44A4E0F07.jpg0FDC23C0-F129-45F8-9C3E-68F99EB92EBF.jpg

If you buy something like this, throw steel wool in there to give the vapors more surface area to condense on. Most of these kind of suck at doing their purpose, but will catch some oil. The real reason the radium kit costs money is because there are probably baffles inside that the vapors have to hit multiple times before the air comes back out. Those are hard to weld, which ultimate increase piece price.

Don’t get too excited yet. He’s got a blower, which will be completely different than your situation, unless you also have a blower. His blower causes excess posivite pressure in the crankcase, which ultimately causes this. You’re probably gonna get a lot less in there, especially if your motor is newer.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Also he has 2. I don’t think we would need more than one. Just need to intercept the tube before it goes into the intake and then run it to the catch can back out of it into the intake. His is a little bit more modification.
