The tug-of-war is one of the ultimate tests of pulling ability and this time, we have an import vs domestic war that will be sure to have everyone talking.

On one side, we have a Chevrolet Silverado powered by Duramax diesel and on the other side a Toyota Tundra weighted down for extra pulling ability. The two of them throttle down and have a war, going back and forth, but at the end of the day, we have a close battle that has a definite winner. Check out the video below that shows off the battle up close and personal and tell us what you think of the Toyota and Chevrolet going at it.

Of course I'm happy but was that a fair fight? Did the chevy have anything in the bed?

All depends how much extra weight was in the tundra. If it was only enough to equal the same weight of the duramax so each truck was the same weight, then it would have been fair. Also type of tires would have been a huge factor.
An even test would be exact same weight for each truck and exact same type of tires.

No clue how they do them.
Dad talk: The proper way is to not do it at all. Not good for your truck to strain it that much. Also very unsafe. Cable/rope/whatever you use could break causing damage or injury.

Every time I watch these I think about how I really don't think the results mean anything. It comes down to traction. I think a better test would be a drag race (safe, shut down road) up a steep mountain while hauling an equal amount of heavy weight.

While I still like watching them, this Tundra was already squatting like crazy due to all the weight. That is a big advantage.

Unless I have it wrong, he used a good strategy too. He stayed put thanks to the extra weight, then while the Chevy had broke traction he slowly started to give it gas and roll forward, making sure to not lose traction like the Chevy.

Those that gun it always loose as they loose traction quick.

Our lab manager Siverado fanboy said they cheated because they added weight to the Tundra. Whatever.
