Well looks like I found a leaf spring thread @n2deep @osidepunker depending on how tim does with his kit and how I can combine that with SUA kit and everything else you may change my idea for my LT rear as far as springs.. but Im going to go get weighed once I swap my bed sides and new gas tank ill load everything up and get a final weight

I put the rxt multirates to the 3rd option.
With 450lbs. they are holding up well.

    Thanks man.
Yeah we'll see. I still have to get all my gear up in there and get some dirt in to see how it all works out. So far, I am happy with how they held up and how they ride.

What shocks are you guys running with your rear leafs that net 2"+ of lift? I was going to pull the trigger on a lift yesterday until I found out Kings OE shocks are only designed to work with 0-1.5" of rear lift. Having custom ones made is possible, but adds $ and 8-10 weeks.

Thanks. I reached out to Matt just a few minutes ago for an ADS quote. Any other options out there for 2.5" rears? I see that Icon makes one, but I want a softer ride at lower speeds/daily driving.

honestly with bypass in the rear you can adjust them and the ads will give you a nice ride ... im going to be selling mine soon, going to long travel, talk to matt if my longer ends will work for you i could sell you a slightly used set w only a few thousand miles on them.. just a thought or he can put different ends on to work for your length. Its a win for us both, i dont have shocks sitting on a shelf and you save a few bucks on shocks

I think there's been some confusion, or more likely some misinformation out there, on Icon shocks. I know more people who have moved to Icon from King/Fox/ADS/any other progressive shock and had a more comfortable street ride. We run Icon and they're Cadillac smooth. Granted, they're all bypasses, but even folks that run the smoothies have good street manners.

I'm interested to know if you've had Icons and found them harsh, or if you're basing that on other people's interpretations. Both are totally viable reasons, I'm just interested in making sure people don't automatically think Icon=uncomfortable.

This may be ideal @pbcolt if you want the right length. I know Bruce spent some time getting this setup right.

I thought my Icons were a lot smoother than my kings(when I was MT) but the Kings would take bigger hits without complaining. But now that I have bypasses and my coils valved correctly they do much better on the small stuff and still take the big hits.

Absolutely legit question. I am 100% basing that on other's interpretations. I've read every King vs Icon vs Fox vs ... thread in existence on multiple forums and I can only go off what other say. My only experience in a MT set-up was when I borrowed Tyler from Pelfreybilt's Tacoma years ago for an In-n-out run haha. It had 2.5" Kings and they felt amazing. I just don't want to spend the coin on a set-up and be unhappy with it.

For sure, could be an option. Based on some @papasmurf youtube videos I can see they were never taken off road

That’s good, I’m glad you’re doing research. If at all possible, ask to go for a ride in someone’s Tundra near you. If you can get a feel for a few different setups, you’ll be able to make a more informed decision.

When there’s air under the tires, the shocks aren’t technically doing anything, so yeah, lightly used.

You should spank them or make them stand in the corner if they’re bad. Good parents are hard to find.

Well now I'm all sorts of confused. One of the vendors I have used in the past called ARB/OME to see what length shocks they use with the Dakar rear leafs so I could order a set of Kings that matches - the off the shelf Kings are actually .5" LONGER than the Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Shocks, so he thinks they would work just fine.

Icon stage 3, Icon billet UCAs, 5.29s, ARB lockers F+R, Coachbuilder +2s and shims, Rago fab ditch light brackets and bed stiffeners, Rago Fabrication sliders, ARE camper, 17x9 XDs and 37/12.5/17 stt pros, DT long tubes, xpipe with dual magnaflows, Full skids, TrailToys front and rear bumpers
As far as the Icon ride goes, mine road very comfy with 600lb springs and 2.0s in the back. Now with 700lb springs and 2.5s in the back it’s a lot firmer, but I don’t see it as a bad thing.
As far as the OME leaf pack, I recently saw a guy post pics of his 6month old set where the bushing was completely gone, luckily they warrantied it. Personally I’ve grown to hate overload springs like some of the others here so I’m going to avoid the OMEs and get something different.
