That's why when we go on a dates we take my "nice " truck (junk gmc with bench seat) Sometimes it won't start for 10 minutes.
And I don't have to worry about door dings or stains. :D

Yes. Life is too short to worry about this just let your passengers not feel like they’re in a prison and let them eat and drink.
No passing gas or vomiting though. That’s the last time you’ll ride with me.

I eat in mine but I am very very careful. My wife is tiny but can eat like a horse. On one trip I walked into chick filet and she went next door to a chipotles. We met back at the truck and she had a big ass burrito. I said "no damn way". I told her the only way she was eating that while we were moving is if she rode in the bed of the truck til she was finished. That did not go over well. So we left, and she ate the whole thing. The next time we stoped I inspected and she had only dropped 1 black bean on the weather tech mat. I showed it to her of course and that didn't go over well either.

Lol... We were road tripping across the US in my Mom and Dads '63 Impala SS back in '69 when I was about 8. My brother and I dorking around and stuck some cheap a$$ paper Burger King stickers to the chrome window garnish in the back seat. My Dad didn't notice for a couple of days and those stupid stickers were like welded to the chrome garnish. MAN, was he pissed.

Right now, coffee for me and water for everyone else. Luckily my wife’s car is the family car.

Things will definitely change once we’re through the new phase.

It's just a truck, I'm not that fussed about eating or drinking inside it. I'd rather have smiles and decent memories. People that have super rigid rules about their possessions makes me laugh. Reminds me of the 80s and those protective PVC covers on sofas... or even worse... those uglyass car bras.

My wife eats sunflower seeds on trips. They are always found in between the center console on the floor. I can deal with that though.

4 kids and a wife who drinks coffee. I would rather walk then let them eat and drink in my truck. She has a platinum armada and it looks like a garbage can on wheels. Drives me crazy.

It's a truck, not a Ferrari. It's gonna get dirty. My only rule is if you make a mess, you clean it properly or pay to have it cleaned properly. Simple as that. Never had a problem. Worst spill I've had in my truck was a bit of mayo from a burger that dropped onto the side of the site. Caught it right away and had it cleaned up in a few seconds. No stains or anything on my seats yet.

I don't hang out with inconsiderate slobs or children though, so that may help.

To be fair, I just don't think eating in ANY car is appropriate. At least not actual meals. I don't care if it's a 1982 VW Rabbit or a brand new BMW, cars aren't meant to be eaten in. Neither are living rooms or bedrooms.

Fair enough. To each their own, though I'd ask you to define "actual meal." LOL. Burger, fries and drink count? I'd rather not waste time sitting on sticky seat in a fast food joint surrounded by screaming children. Makes more sense to me to hit the drive thru and keep right on rolling while enjoying some good tunes. When I'm a road trip, it's hammer down all the way, no time for sitting in a restaurant dicking about. I rarely if ever grab food on a daily run about town since home is less than 10 min away at all times.

I agree to each their own. Not trying to say my way is best for everyone, just for me. And yeah, I would qualify a burger and fries as an actual meal. Anything with sauce is a big no from me! I don't like candy or other crap in the car either but I will bend the rules a little for snacks on longer trips.

Coffee is ok in any situation though.

LOL! I think the most i have ever eaten in the tundra is a couple breakfast sandwiches and some hash brown nuggets. Only stain i have is from some sprite that my son was drinking.
My brother in law did get pulled over for suspicion of dui...he was just eating tacos.
Years ago a mechanic took my truck to lunch without me knowing and bbq sauce spilled out of his to go box onto my subwoofer...man i was pissed and that guy denied it the whole way. He knows he fvked up because he wont even make eye contact with me in public.

That’s a BIG HELL NO HERE. Only water is allowed in mine. I guess I may be a little to anal. I can’t even stand it when a passenger doesn’t use the door handle to shut the door. The finger prints and streaks on my door drive me ape shit!

It doesn’t bother me, just clean up after yourselves. Like others have said, it’s just a truck. Where would you draw the line? Dirty uniform after a game not allowed? Dirty shoes? Glitter from a cheer/dance competition? All I ask is that you’re careful. I can clean leather and vacuum floors
