This are nice but you can try first asking here in the forum, I know several guys with 2018 SR5s swapping their OEMs for the full LED version, maybe one of them put them up for sale @gregfocker77520, @lbcdan just to mention a few

Spend the extra money and get some retro-fit LED projectors. You won't be disappointed.

I haven’t priced the 18s. But I’d say they are more than $230. Haha

I'd argue that if you are going to spend the money on the 2018s, buy some LED projector retrofit lights that will be brighter, look better (in my opinion), about the same price if not cheaper, have a great cut-off, and not be based on a reflector-type setup that scatters light.

I would argue that you want a HID projector retrofit for the brightest and most lumens down the road if you're gonna open up the headlights anyways. LED projectors aren't quite there yet.

I'd argue that they are darn close to being 'there' in comparison. These are my Morimoto bi-LED projectors with crappy, OEM fogs. Less complications (no ballasts, bulbs, or ignitors like the HIDs), no heat, and should last 12-15 years. I honestly can't complain.

"aren't quite" = "darn close"....we agree!! Your output is great for sure. HID are still brighter. Costs are about the same (hid projector+ballasts+bulbs≈LED projectors).

I have wondered how those LED projectors would do in a place like CO where we rely on the heat of bulbs to melt snow on our headlights during like freezing rain and such. I wonder how the OEM 2018 headlights will do as well?

At some point, the law of diminishing returns comes into play. If HID projectors are at 100, LED projectors are at 95, and the stock halogens are 35, then to sit and put off putting in LEDs because they aren't 100 is just about bragging rights at that point. I'm making up numbers of course, but you get my point (I hope). Actually, the center hotspot brightness of my MLEDs are beyond many HID setups in terms of LUX. They aren't quit as 'wide' as some of the HID setups, but they are as bright if not brighter than many.

Sometimes being the 'brightest' on the road by a hair isn't worth it if you also have the most complicated setup (ballast, ignitors, bulbs, etc) as well.

Hey, im with ya, the LED projectors are very nice for sure! HID setups are not complicated though and those LED projectors are basically just missing the bulb component, as they need a hi/low box which one could say is basically the same as a ballast. so 2 vs 3 components.

the LUX is up there for sure, see this chart: https://www.lightwerkz.net/index.php/research/

I personally also wanted the HIDs for their heat output as mentioned. nice to have the headlights melt the snow off them!! do you live in an area that gets snow and freezing rain? i would be interested to see how they do.

...or are you just talking yourself into the $400 you had to pay for the LEDs...?!! i kid.
