just had my 5000 mike service done and was told I had a bad right rear shock (leaking). Of course they had to order it so I will have to go back in a few days. Fluke or has anyone else had suspension issues?

Probably a fluke. OEM shocks are not gonna last a long time but 5000is not a long time. Unless your jumping your truck. Then it's not the shocks fault

I've seen people with oem black shocks last 100k on street/highway driving, I replaced mine at 70 with no indication they were going out

No problems on Tundra but had a OEM 5160 leak on Tacoma under warranty. Even though I warned the service writer that it had 5160s the idiot ordered the wrong shock. Really pissed me off when they took the old one off before even making sure they had correct shock. Wasted 2 hours of my time.

wasn't Rockwall Toyota was it? I sent you a message the other day stumpjumper wondering if I could come take a look at your headlights. I have been interested in the retrofits but would like to see what kind of light output they have. I live just up the road from you in Josephine.

I'm surprised the dealer had to order OEM shocks. Lots of dealers occasionally offer special deals on new shocks. They usually have the shocks in stock. o_O

Not a big deal though. Definitely a fluke having the shock leak like that. Still sucks have to wait for a freakin shock. Where the hell did they order it from? [IMG]

Don't see anything in my in box. I can try to get a pic tonight. Trust me they are far and away better than the stock halogens. Light is a much brighter white. A little pricey but I really hated the stock lights. I am hoping to keep this well into retirement so I did not mind spending some money on mods.

well couldn't figure out how to send a message but clicked on the start a conversation under your name. I guess that is linked to your personal page. Yeah I hate the stock headlights but was wanting something more than just better light bulbs. Not sure I'm a fan of the Spyder headlights as they seem to be giving people issues with fading or condensation build up.

So turned in my truck in today and service tech told me he has seen a few 2018’s coming with leaking shocks. He has one and it only has 1100 miles on it and he said he has a leaking one too. Doesn’t seem to be a isolated thing...

Could be a bad batch of shocks for the 2018's.

Seems like I may be coming up with this issue as well. 2018 TRD sport cm, just in time for my 15k service. Sounds like a loose shock or bad mount while cruising over light bumps/ uneven road surface . I don't notice anything leaking from any of them. Guess that's what the dealer and warranty are for. Keep all updated.

So, to update... the dealer tech has heard the under carriage noise. Apparently he hooked up sensors and says it"could" be a front body bushing/mount. Could take a few days to fully diagnose this I'm told.....
Anyone hear of this? Sounds like nonsense to me. A 2018, 8 month old truck with 15k on the clock. My last Chevy had 250k b4 I had to worry about bushings.

Update on suspension issue.... picked the truck up and within 24hrs I was back at the dealer with the same if not worse issues!!!! So now 3 days later, I'm told by the tech that it seems to be a bad shock/coil spring perch making noise. Hmmmm I believe that was the first thing I mentioned to them, bad shock or mount...
Now I have to wait for the dealer to get response from toyota on how to proceed with the repair... and for them to order a new shock, coil, bolts and bushings....
Anyone think I should bring toyota customer service into this? Or make them aware ? Dealer says i should have truck back by tuesday or wednesday... This is going on now for 2 weeks for a simple shock/coil repair. All that was misdiagnosed by the techs ...

So was able to pick up the tundra tonight. Surprisingly enough they replaced the complete coil over assembly and no noise!! They also were douche enough to state that the LED bar behindthe lower grille was hitting the radiator support causing the squeaking and banging... REALLY!!?? Not even close!!! And why then would they have replaced the coil over shock? I HATE DEALERSHIPS !!!! :argue:Always looking to pass the buck.. ohhh and did I mention the light install was done after the noises started...
    But, so far so good...:fingerscrossed:
