Take note. If you have the xtang 2.0 tonneau cover with the latches shown in this picture, you cannot put in a bed extender. The pull down latches will not work due to lack of space when you pull the latch down. This is a major drawback!! I now have a bed extender that I can’t use F238DF6D-253E-4B79-B590-5AB94A4F7970.jpg

7CB3A312-95B0-4168-8371-4DA8C33F60EB.jpg Well, I made it work. But not without cutting on the extang hardware. Now the latches won’t stay up in the cover when not in use, but I’ll fix that with some Velcro.

Where did you just your extang? Or was it from a vendor on the website? And how much?

One of the reasons I bought the Rugged Hard Liner instead of the extang. These two are almost identical but the Rugged designed their latch handles to work with the bed extender.

Why don’t you jus fold up the cover when using the extender?

Sorry for the super late question (just joined the forum) but would the new/angled/vee shaped bed extender still have interference issues?

That is what I have and had to cut about an inch off the handles that you pull down to lock the cover down.

Thanks, Tony. Appreciate the reply! Any issues with the solid fold besides the handles?

Just took a look at my bed extender and it looks smaller than yours based off of the relative location of screw heads in the tailgate.

If you don’t mind me asking, how far forward of the bed extender mounting/pivot point is the bracket that the last tonneau panel latches on to? I do not have access to my truck and a tape measure right now but here’s a picture if that helps. I’ll try to get the measurement tomorrow. Thank you again!

I believe our pivot points are located in very similar positions. I am pretty sure we have different extenders. Yours appears to have sharper angles, but the height looks the same I have attached an image of the model I purchased. ED082AD6-90F9-4BA8-A011-EAD6F2855CF8.jpg

I would say that the center of the pivot point to the bracket that the cover locks to is about 5 inches.

Probably depends on the brand, but my extender is angled, so expect it would be a similar issue.

I ended up getting the Solid Fold 2.0 and the handles clear my bed extender (just barely). I helps to deploy them and let them hang down before closing the last panel. I can see how the would interfere with other bed extender designs. I'm glad I have a cover on the bed again; got used to it with the Tacoma and now I have a man trunk again on the Tundra :p
