*UPDATE* The petition has been created. Sign the crap out of it, and share it! http://chn.ge/2p5fmWD

*UPDATE 2* This affects all vehicles with the 3UR-FE engine. Spread the petition like wildfire among these vehicle owners.

Hey all, I have a change.org account, and it would be extremely easy to make a petition to get toyota to recall the cam shaft tower seal and have y'all vote on it. So should i start this Petition? I have it ready to go. .For those who don't know about this:

I second this. Knock on wood I haven’t had any issues yet. But I would like things to change so that if I ever did have a problem would be easily addressed.

How many would have to sign the petition before toyota would even notice? Not that I want to be negative, I just think toyota wouldn't care lol

We can also file a claim with the NHTSA.... We have to prove its a safety concern. How about, the oil leaking onto the exhaust manifold could have potential fire/flash hazard?

This would be good if it can be done. My 94 pickup w the 3.0 had a recall for head gaskets. I had 80k on the truck when they did the fix. Never had an actual problem.
It would be great peace of mind to know cam towers would be taken care of if they started leaking.

I'm on board. Mine was fixed under warranty and so far so good. It would be nice however, to see their hand forced and for them to recognize that this isn't a few isolated incidents but an 8 year recurring problem that they haven't CARED to address.

Based on the sales figures of 100k units per year average I'd guess they'd take notice at 10-20k signatures. Lol

This would be a good idea but it'd have to go viral to make enough traction for them to fix it.

I'm down to sign all day but sharing and knowledge is the key here.

I haven't had any issues... Knock on wood but I've seen enough leaks in person to be convinced it's not some coincidence.

Toyota wouldn't even do anything about the damn steering rack

AIP they ended up doing an extra warranty. Why? It sure as hell wasn't because of owners. It was because it was emissions related and they didn't want heat from the feds.

I'll help out, but I think toyota won't even notice. toyota is way better at taking care of customers than other manufacturers, but its simple business strategy for them to just repair as required and nothing more.

Sadly there has to be fires for action, they will not act on it could happen, and honestly rightfully so.
Yours is a great example of the issue, everyone blames sealant application. Look how uniformly yours squished out, the bottom of your cam tower box was not clean, and the FIPG just squished out not adhering to the cam tower. This is all about surface prep, that’s why your dealer can fix it permanently. I literally hate to say this, but quality control in our country is shit, nobody takes pride in what they do. Idiocracy is coming true before my very eyes...

Absolutely. Toyota knows about the issue and refuses to implement a proven corrective action. Toyota should Be responsible for the repair regardless of mileage.

    Awesome, thanks!
You can't set a goal, it goes up in increments. Once we get to 100 signatures, it'll become 200. After that, I think 500, etc.

Signed. I'm sure Toyota won't do jack about it since there haven't been any actual fires (as far as I know) and will just keep doing what it's doing by repairing them on an as-needed basis.

It'd even be nice if they just offered the repair for free for folks outside of warranty, because if you want to get it repaired for free, you gotta hassle the crap out of toyota of America

Good idea, I don't think Toyota will care one bit otherwise they would have just solved the issue by now. @Town2018 thanks for creating this and trying to get somewhere for us on this issue.
