Keith Carty aka @dirtydeeds agreed to let me run another Group buy on his TRD replacement system since several people inquired back in January, but did not have the funds right after Christmas. This is only the 2nd time ever Keith has offered any type of savings on the TRD replacement as they are never included with any of the sales. He agreed to do free shipping if he gets at least 7 orders. That is a savings of $130 or so depending on where you live.

To get in on the group buy you need to call Keith at 760-877-4234 and mention the TRD replacement group buy. Before I bought mine, I spoke with Keith for over 30 minutes about different systems, sizes, drone, sounds, finish, and materials. He covered everything in detail.

This group buy will be open until the end of March.

From Keith (from the first round):
"These systems gain 3-10hp. 10-20tq. They are totally customizable. You have the option to make the muffler any size you want. Or delete mufflers and save a ton of $. They come with helmholtz resonators. And they too can be deleted to save $. You can use TRD tailpipes right from Toyota. Or we can make it dump before the rear axles for free. We also have the option to build bolt on dumps so if you change you mind late you can run TRD tailpipes.

These systems essentially are Trd systems, but with options. And I’ve personally built and tried out every option. So I consult with you over the phone to help choose the perfect configuration.

Give a call for details. And to get in on some free shipping. We have never done a group buy on these systems since they are one of our most complicated time consuming systems to build. 760-877-4234"

Mine is Awesome!!! If you are ok with a little drone I highly recommend deleting the mufflers.

Would deleting the mufflers and keeping the resonator pretty much be like combining the standard budget dump and the dual budget dump? Assuming they’re dumped before the axle

How does this compare with the standard TRD dual exhaust as far as sound/drone? I had been looking at the TRD dual exhaust as well. I would probably be interested in the 24x6 (mild) exhaust. My hope is it would be *almost* stock quiet on the highway and a beast when I have to get on it. I'm not looking for a lot of sound just a little more grunt. Plus I love the look of the dual exit behind the tires.

I have the 16x5 and it's barely noticeable at all on the highway, but sounds stellar on startup and pedal romp.

No Drone, just a deeper tone. It is a little louder than stock, but that could just be me perceiving the deeper tone as louder. I did get the 20x5 because I knew I would be towing a camper.

It's essentially the dual budget dumped, with resonators.

$800, with the bolt on dumps. I just tried shooting a video but my phone doesn't do it justice, by any means. Takes way too long to upload to YouTube but will gladly text/email you if you PM me your phone number or email. If in DFW I'm willing to meet.

Basically yessir. If drone is a concern definitely do not dump before the axle.

Just for educational sake, is the reasoning for dumping before the axle to get more rumble?

I did it because I am going to install a full size 34.3"x11.5" spare tire under the bed eventually and did not want to worry about tail pipes being within an inch or two of a $340 tire. Next set of tires will likely be 35x12.5.
Dumping before the Axle may give a little more rumble, but since I went with the quieter 20x5 mufflers, I do not hear the exhaust in the cab during normal driving. I choose the quieter mufflers because I knew we would eventually get a travel trailer, which we did 3 weeks ago. Going up hills the truck downshifts to 4th or 3rd gear and is around 4k rpm and I did not want to have exhaust drone for prolonged periods while towing.

People with thicker leafs and more articulation, the tips will get in the way. That is one main reason. Another reason, one less object to worry about hanging up when off roading.

Good to know. At least it's for a practical reason and not just for aesthetics.
