Here’s a Little back story... I am a huge Toyota fan. I came from the 4runner family. I’ve had 3 4runners, 2 mildly built and my last one was a all out build. Have everything you could do to one. Even put a rear mount turbo on it. It was a blast but needed a truck and something more daily drivable. BD3F8422-08EF-4C4F-9FE5-1761105A8DF3.jpg

It was fun but I sold it for my tundra and I absolutely love this truck and don’t miss the 4runner one bit. I’ve only had it for 2 months and have already done a few mods. Here’s the day I brought it home.854DE1C1-8A35-4112-8BAB-E6B41F1C6C8A.jpg

First mod was led pods in the fog lights. Super easy mod and a nice upgrade over factory halogen.2E51F94E-47D9-4B8E-96DD-77D94ECCF92A.jpg

Second was a leveling kit. Found a pro comp 2.5 kit on Craigslist for 70 bucks. Sits perfectly level now. 8C323AE8-84D4-4463-816F-DB79C0DB1727.jpg
Next was a full interior led swap along with tag lights and reverse lights. Got this kit off eBay and they are really bright. Love these things
    CC1F7BD1-996F-4009-9C89-768B3A0A97B5.jpg
Next I missed my projector retrofits on the 4runner so I had to upgrade the tundra as well. These turned out awesome. Clean and simple with switch back halos and switch back bulbs in the factory location. 77732A52-49F5-45DE-B4E4-FF2C207AA457.jpg BAFF7A13-0724-4446-8034-7CD3F0CF79F3.jpg 9316901E-ED08-4FD1-9DE4-31E884DE9081.jpg
    65C845E5-F964-4670-9ED7-6F85722C6989.jpg
Next I egptaded the under mirror lights to led. Huge difference over stock and only 20 bucks on eBay.
    32AF263D-8D00-4257-A9F6-0035360D8F05.jpg
After that I wanted a roof rack but something that looked factory. Found this setup online and it was exactly what I was looking for. It’s a perrycraft sportrek system. Looks perfect.

After looking at the front end with a ton of chrome I decided to paint part of the grill black to resemble the newer platinum grills. I think it turned out awesome for spray can color match. After a weekend up prepping, priming, painting, clear coat, and then wet sand and buff it turned out awesome. C2EAB4E6-992F-469D-A257-F6EA3C835404.jpg753B35DF-5332-49E2-BEB4-587A2AB88209.jpg
I have lots more planned for this truck so stay tuned! Some of my next mods in due time are to get some Nitto Trail Grapplers, lightbar hidden behind bumper, automatic tail gate drop, tail gate light bar with turn signals, bed lights some swing case tool boxes and whatever else I can get into. Thanks for reading.

I don’t want to get that crazy with this build more of a clean and simple build but that’s what I said about the 4runner too haha

Installed some mictuning bed lights today. Hooked up to a jam switch to come on when the tail gate is opened. Also hooked to a switch to turn them off and on in case I need to leave the tailgate down. 235D93C2-DC37-4C83-85E0-99934EF9748B.jpg

I’m getting ready to put lights in my bed, too. Mind sharing info on switches and how you wired everything? I’d like mine to also be wired to the cargo light. Not sure if I can get both ways to work together, though.

I couldn’t tell you much about tapping into the cab light but as far as wiring for mine. I just ran wire straight from the battery down the frame to the bed. With a inline fuse. Hooked that to the power of the led strips. I ordered a pair of door jam switches off of eBay. Got 2 for like 6 bucks. All that type of switch does is create a ground once the pin is released. So I hooked the ground wire from the led strips to it and that’s really it man. Super simple. Probably going to do the same thing for under the hood as well since I have a extra switch.

Thanks! That’s pretty straightforward. I’d been thinking under the hood would be a good place for the rest of the roll of LED strip that I don’t use in the bed.

BTW, the build is looking great so far!

Finished up the bed lights and power outlet yesterday. Turned out pretty sweet! Bedlights come on when the tailgate is opened and are on a switch as well. Power outlet on a switch also so it’s not constantly draining the battery.048863AB-761E-43E5-99DF-26F0148AB5C1.jpg EF653143-9871-4CBF-BE7C-73B172C52BA8.jpg

Does anyone have a link to a good automatic tailgate drop writup? All the ones I’ve found photobucket has messed up. I know parts that are needed really looking for a good wiring diagram. Or which wires to tap into and what not

Anyone looking for a set of retrofits? I have a extra set sitting around if anyone is interested. 400 shipped to your door. All you need is a h1 hid kit and it’s a plug and play set up. They are switch back halos as well. White drl and amber turn signals.
