I went and checked out a 2014 Tundra at a Toyota Dealer today and according to the CARFAX, it was previously sold as a Certified vehicle. Shouldn’t that mean that the certified warranty still applies? The truck has 66k miles so wouldn’t the warranty last 3 more years (it was certified in 2014) and/or 34k miles?

Are CPO warranties good for 110,000 miles?

And, the answer is that once the CPO has been added, the warranty stays with the VIN. It's transferable, same as the original.

End date will be dependent upon its original sale date, or its warranty in-service date. Often those correspond.

Thank you for the response. The dealer didn’t mention anything about it and they were the ones that certified in 2014.

I was told the CPO warranty only applied to the “first owner” after the cpo designation. Maybe it’s different now, but that’s how it was for me a few months back. I ended up buying new.

I guess I'm not right in 100% of cases. But, most. OP, do some reading. I'd be surprised if Toyota did not make that warranty available to you.

Thanks for the replies. I purchased the truck on 3/7/18 and they did state that it was certified during the buying process, but I never asked clarification whether it was recertified or just had warranty left from the previous certification. I went and checked the truck out twice before buying it and it being a CPO vehicle never came up until I was signing papers. The truck was a decent price and I almost didn’t want to ask, it seemed they didn’t realize it was certified.

Pretty sure the paperwork when I did my CPO in January said it was transferable. And the warranty is good for 100,000 miles and 7 years from the in service date. So for instance, mine is good until July 2022. Truck was sold New July 2015.
