Took the car off roading a few weeks back, and haven't driven it much since. I now have a shudder in the rear whenever the suspension does it's thing. I can feel it at low speeds and high. I've gotten under neath it a few times and while there's some dirt, there appears to be no mud or anythign of the sort that would be hindering anything or throwing off weight. All wheel weights look in place (no signs of any missing). Have also retorqued the wheels to make sure that was correct. Driveline appears clean and clear.

Any suggestions on what to look for? I did get all 4 off the ground in a few spots, maybe it threw off alignment? But this doesn't seem like an alignment issue.

Drive line would be the first thing I'd consider. I don't know how much you lifted the rear but sometimes a CB drop will fix shudder if it's caused by the lift.

I'd guess then, that the rear axle shifted. An alignment will tell you if it moved or not. Or, if you wanna check yourself, you can clamp a piece of 1x vertically to the front wheel straight down the center line. You can use the 1x to hook your tape measure on and measure back to the center of the rear wheel. Front tires need to be straight of course and it'll work best if you clamp a 1x to both sides so you can go back and forth checking your numbers.
The intention here is only to give you a reference, just a way to check. The axle CAN move an inch or more.

So it is noticeable with suspension movement? I would check shocks first after a hard hit if the previous applies. Do you have remote reservoirs with a valve to check nitrogen? If so start there, it is easy to check.

yea, only with suspension movement, and yes have remote reservoirs, will give them a check.

I wonder if somehow you blew out the valving in your rear shocks. Or maybe the bushings in the shackles are all gummed up. Just a thought.

I got under the truck yesterday and checked things from front to back. Shackles looked fine (bushings all looked fine). I did manage to crack my iphone X screen as I was rolling out from under the truck though (FUCKKK)

Here's the plan to knock things out and double check:

    1. Alignment
    2. Wheel Balance (I really don't think this is it)
    3. Get it to a shop to check shocks, etc

In my head i've been thinking it's a blown shock, or possible axle issue (stepped out, or bent)......just hoping it's no kind of frame damage, but seems those are rare occurrences on these things

How about trying it caveman style. Get in the back of the truck and start jumping up and down getting the shocks to cycle. Just to see if it’s sticking or something.

everything bounces back fine when i get on the tailgate and go caveman on it. I'm tempted to go drive the piss out of it off road and see if it all corrects itself ;)

Do you have a zero loss pressure gauge and some N2?

    If not, don’t...

The more I drive around, it feels like the shocks blown (or possibly lost all pressure). Have an appt with a shop that does a lot of toyotas on Friday...we'll see where that goes....

Any oil residue? If you did lose your N2 pressure, time to rebuild. Perfect opportunity to buy a few tools and you could do shock valving, rebuilding or whatever yourself. Look like a handy guy from what I see in the garage....

No residue, but it's got that washboard feel after hitting any type of bump that i've experienced with blown shocks before. I'll ditch them if that's the case, and go with something different (these things are like 2 months old).

We'll see what happens on Friday when i take it in to have it looked at further.

My front King shock blew a seal the first time out. Somehow I nicked the chrome on the shaft. Go figure. 65.00, new seals 25.00, oil is 39.00 for a gallon, 38.00 for a bottle of whiskey, charge with N2.

    Probably between 125-150 psi.

I set my CO's up to 150 psi and my bumps to 250 psi
