If you disconnect the dash speakers, will the door speakers still work? (using factory amp for now, ********* 5 channel on the way)

Used the search function and couldn't find the answer.

    Thanks Gents!

I would think so, if disconnected at the speaker.

Ok thank you! I went ahead and disconnecting the dash 3.5 and lost all “highs” in my coaxial in the door. Strange!

Just saw this, yes the door speakers run parallel to the dash. @tacorob I think he needs your plug and play wiring.

Tweeters in the dash are powered off the head unit.

ok, I think I have a better understanding now. Thank you for the info. It sounds like the system sends all the lows the the door speaker and all the highs to the dash. So.....if i bought a set of separates...i could install the 6.5 in the door and then fab a bracket and place the tweeter in the dash speak location, right?

I know ********* offers some brackets and I already have some stuff or order from them (the 5 channel amp and wire kit)...i am just trying to save a little money.

You can put an aftermarket component speaker in the dash but I'm not sure how you would mount it. As normal tweeters wont have the same bracket of the one you toom out. He mounts all of his component tweeters in the sails of the door. I was more referring to the wiring harness at the end that you could plug into the dash and run wires to the door.

Yep super easy to fab a bracket for the tweeter in the dash. That’s where I put mine for better imaging vs. the sail panel in the door

I've got a question, sorry i'm a lurker more than anything. But i recently just wanted to upgrade the Dash speakers, and had a shop do it. Currently they replaced my two side dash speakers with tweeters, and replace the center dual voice coil a 3.5 hertz speaker. I've since gone back because i'm not getting much sound out of the left side, and they suggested i take it toyota. Well I pulled it apart instead, and noticed they wired the center channel Dual voice coil to the Single voice coil, and the sound is basically all right side in center and the center does not play left. Also noticed that the left side is not as loud and i believe that is because of impedence. I'm debating on put the Stock center back in. Any advice on what i can do about the center channel?
