Does anyone know what minimum lift I need do to fit approximately 35s and if I can keep my stock Trd pro shocks?
I would also prefer to keep my stock 18 inch wheels

I do not own a Pro, and I am not sure about fitting 35" tires on a stock "Pro" suspension. Why pay the extra$$$ for a Pro and then want to alter the suspension to fit 35''s?. Just sayin. That's why Toyota makes the SR5, which makes it somewhat cheaper to upgrade. You might be able to run with 35" already, as is.

    I have a sr5 crewmax 15 I can't put 35s on mine. I just bought a rough country leveling kit (2.5") n they telling me max tire size is 305 70.

I might have messed up with the pro.
Was just wondering if I could put spacers and shackles to achieve enough height to fit 35ish tires. Without changing wheels and shocks. Having trouble resisting the desire to put the biggest tire possible with my good suspension. If not I'll go with 305 70s.

You can fit 35's no problem with your trd pro shocks. You are on the right trail by adding shims (not spacers) and shackles in the back. Get in contact with David Ekstrom (<ekstrom_design@yahoo.com>) and he will give you exactly what you need.
Basically you can achieve the lift you want (3in) with your trd pro shocks to fit those 35's. You do not have to buy new suspension.

The Pro suspension is very decent. There are some Pro owners here who have upgraded their tires but I can't remember if 35"s were used. There are some things you can do to get you more clearance to lessen the amount of rubbing by using cab mount chop plates [IMG] from Relentless Fabrication. http://www.relentlessfabrication.com/products/05-tacoma-cab-mount-chop-plate A lot of guys here including @Sean266 have also trimmed their front bumper. I think @Sean266 has pics posted on his build thread of both these options which should allow you to use 35" with no problems.

Two Coachbuilder shims on each side will give you one inch of additional lift. Then if you choose a proper offset (around 35 mm), then you should be able to fit 35s (stock wheels with 35x12.5 will give you a rubbing problem with control arms--which is really bad). The rear can be lifted up by Coachbuilder shackles. 3 inch shackles will give you slight more rake. If you don't like that, you could always go with smaller shakes (2 in).

His stuff are legendary among various forum members for their beefiness and quality.

OK what am I missing here. I have the Coachbuilder shims, haven't installed them yet, but they are .25"ea, 2 of them = .50", how does that raise the front 1"?

Because the shock ratio with our trucks is almost 2:1.

BTW...for all this blah blah blah I need to lift to fit 35s. You can fit 35's on a bone stock Tundra. You don't need to lift anything.

I'm still amazed how everyone seems to think that coilover lifts, spacer lifts, TRD Pro lifts, etc. have some magic property that change tire clearance on compression. All those lifts only change clearance at ride height. The suspension still moves up and down. First time you stuff the tire in a driveway, you are back to normal. But I digress.

    Oh one or two.
    This ^
Mine is not even leveled I'm still a little low in the front and I can stuff 35's with just a little trimming and removing the front plastic.

Pretty sure I have seen where guys are running 295/70/18 without problems with the TRD Pro. That's about a 34.5-34.7" tire if im not mistaken, depending who makes it. Almost 35, and close enough IMO. The ones I have seen look great, wish I would have just got a PRO myself.

@PLC721 Mentioned it's also possible to rub the skid plate with certain setups right? I'd want to use my old 35/12.50r17s if I could and just buy some methods. I'm more than prepared to chop the cab mount and do some trimming if needed, just don't know what else I should prepare for if need be

If I go with 17s I'd get the standards, but after some more thinking I'll prolly buy new R/Ts for the stock 18" wheels. With that idk if I need spacers as well..

Might want to reconsider that decision. The 17's in a Standard have a 4.75" BS. A full inch farther out than the Standard 18's with 5.75" BS. 4.75 is too little backspacing IMO for our trucks with 35s.
I trimmed my skid plate and did a CMC and the 35's are basically perfect. With 4.75", I'm not even confident the CMC would be enough to clear.

    I've cleared a 35x13 on a -44mm offset with the CMC and a 6" ProCrap lift.

44mm offset with what width wheel?

Will you be attempting on a stock pro suspension? If then there are a few things to take into consideration.

Back space and offset come into play a lot when thinking about stuffing 35's in there.
I'm 90% sure you can stuff 35's in the wells w/ the Rock warior rim setup b/c of the offset. BFG doesn't recommend 12.5 on a 8" rims. If I remember right it'd have to be 8.5/9", but there are countless folks that put 35x12.50 on rock warriors with no problems.

I would consider aftermarket UCA(which also depends on you off set/ backspacing), Body chop mount FOR SURE, removal/cutting/moving around plastics.

Haven't clarified yet about the front skid. As Pro skids look different than the factory skid. When I do my next service I will make sure to double check. As factory skids, people do Mod, as far as cutting or bending the "ears" to provide more clearance on lockouts.

Also consider running CB shims+shackles if all else fails on stock pro suspension

Question is do you plan to go wheeling? As I'm sure if you are just rolling around the city you can get away w/ 35's with slight rubbing on u turns and all that fun stuff..

I am more worried when the suspension cycles/articulates at full compress with the 35"s under there.
I will attempt this in the near future once I decide what rims size/offset/bs I will need to accommodate the 35"s at full compress etc..
