Ive got a 2017 pro. I like it but there is a creaking noise coming from what sounds like the passenger side dash area. To put it simply... it’s driving me absolutely nuts. I can’t pinpoint where it’s coming from to fix the issue. This noise is what keeps me “liking” my truck and not loving my truck. Lately I’ve been eyeing the new ford raptor. Has anybody made the switch to a raptor and regreted their decision? On a side note, anybody in the seattle area that has delt with this noise that I speak of and has any interest in helping me isolate and fix?B6C0383E-EB60-4EFA-B6DC-1228B6528F1A.jpg

Have you checked where the in cabin filter lives. Could be the door that separates the filter from the glove box.

Take it to the dealer and have them figure it out if you are under 3/36. If no fix then go to the raptor!

Played with the cabin air filter. No luck. Where the windshield and dash meet, there is already some foam separating the two. I put in some thicker foam. No change. I can try the ecu fix, but this is a plastic creaking noise and the ecu problem sounds more like a buzzing from the reports that I’ve read. Thanks for the tips though. Keep ‘em coming!

Man if the squeaking dash on your 2017 drives you nuts, the Raptor is going to drive you stock, raving mad.

Is the raptor a pretty noisy truck?

I might have figured out the squeaking...the plastic trim piece that hides the wiring from the rear view mirror to the roof liner. I removed it and there is no squeaking or creaking. I’m going to leave it off and see if all stays quiet. If this fixed the problem, I might actually start to love this beast! Thanks for all of the links and posts for solutions. Still interested in any experiences with the raptor just to see what people think. I think it’s a beautiful looking truck but I’m super skeptical of any ford and it’s mechanical reliability.

The new raptor is a v6. The ecoboost doesn't have a great reputation. Theres no room in my stable for anything less than 8 cylinders.

Your truck has the same quarter mile time 15.2 as the first gen Raptor. Second gen will smoke it unless you get the six Kay supercharger. Then you will have it beat. Good luck. Nice looking truck! Peace. D

Better think twice before buying a Raptor. I am sure the mechanical components are good but the broken gadgets will drive you up the wall (I came from Ford, I know). Besides that the Raptor is what.......about mid 60's plus some areas charge a premium for it. You will loose a lot of money (resale) in short order.

If you bent on spending money keep your truck and spend 8k for a SC and installation. I think that is a better way to go.

OP - I had the same DAMN problem. Turned out to be the brace on the rearview mirror (mounted on the windshield). That bitch squeals like a stuck pig when the weather changes. Gently push that around and please let me know if that fixes it. If it does, I will take what you would have paid down on a Raptor in small bills; I will pay the postage :)

Fixed my squeak last night, pulled off passenger side dash speaker cover and noted dash was squeaking against apillar cover. Folded some double sided tape and wedged in there and it's hidden by speaker cover. Also put some foam tape on glove box lid where it contacts the rubber plugs which tightened that up a little more. There was also a plastic piece under glove box that was loose, some foam tape firmed that up too. So far so good

Well, there have been quite a few threads and replies here about noise problems. Seems that there are numerous areas that create noises. I still have the passenger side dash creak/tapping sound and I've checked everything mentioned here and still haven't found it. Kind of sad since my 16' was dead silent for the 8 months I had it.

I couldn't agree more (not that the Tundra doesn't have more than enough power already).

TRD PRO + SC > Raptor

Stay vigilant, you will find that rattle.

Yeah I have the same sqeaking rattle. Its the speaker cover like others have stated on here. Haven't had time to fix it yet. I love the look of raptors but cant bring myself with the price tag. Plus its a pride thing that I built mine rather than bought. I can run toe to toe with a Raptor, on and off the road and I spent 20k less after all my mods. Not too mention it doesn't sound like a ricer o_O
