Rather than getting on everyone's threads and going back and forth let's compile everything we know and or want to achieve with our current/new/future setups

    @zackbremer @n2deep @TRON @PLC721 @TheBeast @Watt maker

My old setup was the CB+3 shackles on oem packs.
Rode great, just couldn't keep up the weight of my load. At full load through various terrain I hit rear bumps very often than I liked. Changed up my load out a bit and lightened up where I can, helped keep me off the bump a little.

New setup is the Icon RXT multirate pack
I just put them in a few weeks ago. With Just my rack and tent (a little under 300lbs) on the first setting(rated 250lbs constant load) I'm getting some drop. After a few hundred pavement miles I am a little over 1/2" from CB+3 setup.

    From Icon RXT description:
Leaf packs spring rates are slightly lowered for ride quality and droop travel.
The pack comes with an additional leaf that can either replace the 3rd leaf gaining 15% over the Icon spring rate to accommodate more weight. 500lbs constant load leaves you around 2"
Now if you need up to 750lbs of weight you keep the leaf pack as is and install the extra leaf in between leaf #2 and #3. This would put you at 25% over Icon spring rate.

I am moving on to option #2 and see how it holds up with my load.

I know some of you have different setups. I want to know how they have held up wheeling with the loads.

    Moved to this thread

Currently running K37's w/ADS Triple bypass but had Deaver re-arch and customized them for 400lbs back in 2013. Has worked great but I am at the point where I need more. Going to ADS 3.0 Triple bypass in the rear with Deaver I96 Spring under and ADS bumps all under the bed. Didn't want to cut the bed or add the extra weight of a cage and really don't want to go fiberglass bedsides either. Will be cutting the stock fenders to get max travel numbers.
Was one of the first to test the k37 w/ADS 2.5 triple bypasses and will be one of the first to test the 3.0 SUA setup so we will see how it works.

I’m also interested in the Alcan custom packs.

@zackbremer and @ColoradoTJ are the only two I know that have experienced or know others with. Can you guys please shar specs, knowledge, pros and cons on these vs the RXT or Deavers?

I have over 4 inches built into my expedition pack. This is for flexibility and off-roading as well as extras for towing and extra weight.

With the new sua setup are you going to run the camburg relocation kit? Or something similar?
@osidepunker Is also running an sua setup as well right?

That’s a lot. Is the ride intensely stiff? I want extra height by that seems extreme

I felt the difference as soon as pulled away from Atlas. It is much better, but i deleted my blocks and wanted some rake back. I have a bracket lift. :anonymous:

I was running about 250lbs daily and the k37s did just fine - but when I add my RTT that weight goes to 450 lbs and the k37 were setup for 400lbs and that did fine also. Loading another 100-200lbs of camping gear still did just fine off-road. Had to adjust the ADS bypasses to keep from hitting the bumps all day. Then I had a longer trip where I was loaded with about 1000lbs of gear and was on the bumps all day long. So had to make some changes. Need to keep my weight more static and need more shock. I am planning on ditching the RTT and rack, and slimmed my gear down so I can stay around 500-600lbs on a long trip. I normally carry 2 spares(200lbs) 14gal of water(117lbs) 14gal of fuel(88lbs) plus camping gear. Goal is 500-600lbs total since the Deaver XHD are good for about 500-600lbs

I have a zone bracket lift. Out of the box you get 3 inch blocks (which is why 4+ inches were built). Being level matched with the body lines of our truck it gave the illusion of sag in my eyes. Now, that I have maybe an inch (i havent measured) i feel better when i look at it.

Solid! Paired with the 3.0's SUA and bumps definitely going to get you more than what you need.
and does this mean your current bypasses are going up for sale....?:D

New leaf pack gave him the height. His whole thing was switching the leaf pack to get rid of blocks.

So, both the RXT w/ omegas and the Deaver w/ADS are pulling around 13"?

RXT with omegas @KevinK @joonbug @boardude are the only guys i know that are rocking em.
Depending on which deaver pack you are talking about. I believe @Tacotundra has em.
they would be able to give you full spec.

13' for the ADS and K37s is info from MCM. I don't remember where I got 13 for RXT. I would imagine K37 and U748 numbers are the same?

I think no matter what you will always chase the perfect combo. I don't think it exists.
Everyone wants soft ride loaded AND unloaded with a lift built in and drive like a Caddy...for me and my M/T setup K37s were the right choice since 90% of the time my bed is empty so I will be happy 90% of the time :)

But if later on I decide to go with RTT I will go to Deaver which is couple miles away from me and have them modify my current K37s to my new specs.

Its always a compromise between ride and weight with rear leafs. How much weight do you want to carry and how nice do you want it to ride? Just have to be somewhere in between. My problem is my weight would vary by a large amount(500-700lbs) so made it more difficult. If you can keep your weight swings a lot less like 100-200lbs then its easier to get close to that 100% happy range.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
I’m running a constant load of around 1000lb. With the 2”CB shackles and the Icon 3 leaf helper pack (it replaces the middle 2 OEM leafs), the truck sets with a rake and approximately 1 1/2” higher than stock in the rear. I’m not interested in going fast, so haven’t been hitting the stops, but don’t want to lose articulation. My concern is that the springs set pretty flat right now. I’m watching to see if the curve starts to invert. I will probably have to get a custom set of leaf springs made eventually.

A few people who ran that pack goes flat with loads. Going a custom Alcan or Custom Atlas pack would be a great option.
@TRON is running a custom set from Valley springs with his CB+3's loaded up 800lb and it looks like it held up great.

With that much weight it would be hard to find your "happy" place. Keeping up weight with ride height, sacrificing ride comfort and maybe articulation. Triple bypass will help with ride comfort and articulation/travel.

    Some stuff
Hmm. So, I don't have that much constant weight (maybe 600-700) but my Deaver 748s are starting to flatten. 6 months on the truck and only a handful of dirt excursions. Handling is still good and it doesn't appear to be sagging. Keeping an eye on it though.

Custom pack and the bypasses in the rear may be in my future. If that happens, I may just throw caution to the wind and add the secondaries up front... :spending:
