    I just recently purchased my first Tundra, and Toyota for that matter, a 2016 Blazing Blue DC SR5 Tundra w/ the TRD package. So far I am loving it. I came from only owning Nissans for the last 16 years to finally making the jump to Toyota, no regrets so far. Previous vehicle was a 07 Nissan Xterra that treated me well but after 8 years and 175K miles on the clock it was time to part ways. I put the utility in SUV with the way I treated the Xterra and figured it was time to upgrade to a truck which would better suit my needs. I keep my vehicles for a long time so I certainly hope that Toyota lives up to is reputation and holds up, I have little doubt that it won't.

    Living on the eastern shore of Maryland this truck will see many weekends at/on the beach at Assateague Island. I just had the inaugural beach day with the truck this past weekend, it did great. I can't wait to put sandy / fishy beach gear in the bed instead of playing Jenga in the back of the Xterra. I just need to figure out how to safely carry my 14 ft fishing kayak now. Thankfully my buddy is a fabricator and owns the same truck so I already have him looking into building a rack that can work with a tonneau cover (he needs one too).

    I don't have plans for a big lift or new wheels like most here, I will just make some tasteful changes along the way that help with the utility of the truck that suit my particular needs. So far I like the truck just the way it is, yes I even like the stock TRD wheels. Immediate plans are tonneau cover, Line-x, maybe tint, and a rack of some sort in the future for the kayak. I already purchased a full set of Husky floor liners to help combat the inevitable sand problem.

    What up from NJ. Identical situation as you. I traded in my 2012 xterra for a 2017 DC same color as yours. I love it. I have a 12' hobie outback and not having to put it on the roof of the xterra is great. Good luck with the truck. Make sure to post pics of the rack if you fab one. I want one that fits in the stake holes since I already have a cover.
