Best way to run lightbar wires?

Recently installed a roof mounted light bar, still debating on the best way to run the wires.
Down the windshield, or drill a hole in the roof ?

 

My first roof lightbar I was able to split the power wore insulation and I ran the red wire behind the water channel and the black wire inside. This hide the red color and made the black wire small enough to tuck inside it nicely and you couldn't see it at all.

That one turned to crap, bought a new one and I didn't want to cut the insulation so I just put a huge amount of silicon inside the channel and pressed it the best I could in there. You would never really notice it unless you're trying to see it. It's definitely there but the channel and wore being black it blends well for my liking. I need to clean up my extra silicon but it's working as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't want to drill more holes in my roof for my wiring, not to mention the plug on mine is so big I'd have to cut the wires and splice them back together inside the vehicle.

 

So many iPhone auto correct mistakes but you get the idea, lol.

 

For now I have it attached with pads and tie raps, I have a couple water tight pass through fittings, just haven't brought myself to drilling a hole in the roof just yet.

This was my initial wiring setup to test the light and just keep the wire in place.

 

Now that I have the light all dialed in, I decided to finalize the wiring, and make peace with having to drill a hole in the roof of a brand new truck. I used a Marine cable pass through that has a water tight grip on the wire, and put a bead of sealant between the base of the fitting and the roof. The fitting is chrome plated brass, and I used rivets to tighten it down and keep it from vibrating loose.
