One negative I have seen from internet post and pictures is of Boss shocks welded ends breaking off. Is that really and issue?

I have had both the FBG coilovers and the Toytec lifts installed. They aren't the same options you are listing here but the honest truth is that the FBG set was a nicer ride. I had zero issues with them whatsoever and feel like the "upgrade" to the Toytec/Radflo system was kind of a waste of money that I could have spent on other stuff.

I also have the Zone Offroad UCAs that are mentioned in the FBG kit and they are exceptional.

The fact that the FBG kit includes an add-a-leaf instead of blocks for the rear is a real selling point. My rear leaf springs are sagging because I used blocks and then later shackles - adding a leaf is a much better and longer lasting option. My vote would be for the FBG kit. They are local to me as well, so I can say that the shop is full of good folks who are willing to explain stuff to a noob like me.. I have no association with them outside of being a customer, however.

ETA: Yeah, you should just to the UCAs now.. You can kind of get away without doing it but you will want to after driving your truck with a new lift and a crappy caster. Doing it now will save you a few bucks in the long run on installs.

AAL is a great option if you tow. If not, grab blocks to shackles. If you do tow, AAL+airbags would help too. I’ve never heard of doing shackles+blocks (?) To me, that would be a stiff ride.

Not at the same time - first did Toytec blocks, then Toytec shackles. Neither installed at the same time. Now my leaf springs are almost flat.

Pretty sure @Almaboy has the same issue.

To be fair my rear leafs didn't get really saggy until I used the Toytec adjustable shackles on the top setting. I'm fairly certain they would have sagged out with any shackle providing the same lift. I think add-a-leaf is a much better option for the rear.

Poorly written, had Toytec blocks with the FBG fronts, then bought the shackles when I went to the Toytec/Radflo setup.

The point is that both options will prematurely wear out your leaf springs.

Seems like everyone I know who is paying attention to their suspension is noticing sagging leafs. Whether stock or lifted, carrying weight or just wheeling, I've seen more posts about rear leaf springs lately than I can count, even with my shoes off and zipper down.

Sincere curiosity here, have any of you recommending Toytec had any experience with Fat Bob's Garage? I understand Toytec has a close relationship with many on this site, but I'm honestly curious if the devotion stems from actual performance comparisons or personal relationships.

I mean no dosrespect, honestly curious. I prefer to make decisions based on data when possible. My own experience is the only comparative data I have right now.

That's a fair assumption. I've dealt with ToyTec. They offer professional knowledgeable services devoted to Toyota 4 wheel rigs. They test and use what they sell. Many of ToyTec employees run with the various suspensions offered. I've met several employees and have seen their rigs. Not mall crawlers that bunch for sure. I only go with what I know. Not devotion. Wheeler's Off Road folks are damn good too and offer tried and tested products too. I don't have the Boss setup but know several members personally that do and haven't heard of any issues at all. The Eibach setup is quite popular from what I hear. Someone will chime in.

Thanks for your candid response. I guess that makes sense as my proximity to FBG has allowed me to spend time in their shop, speak with their sales people and their technicians, and also see what they are running in their own vehicles as well. The owner of FBG runs their products in his Tundra, most of the technicians there run Jeeps or Land Cruisers and as with Toytec, they are definitely not mall crawlers. They have gone above and beyond to fix problems that another shop caused for me as well, so I do hold them in high regard. I guess my point is that it makes sense to have brand loyalty based in part on the way the brand treats you as a customer. I've always have really quick, friendly, and informative responses from Toytec as well - even when my problems are partially of my own doing.. **cough**

Back to the original question - you probably can't go wrong with either setup, but personally I wish I had gone with an add-a-lead instead of the other options.

I agree on the AAL. I have the AAL and Ttec shackle set at lower setting. Seems to work fine. (It's nice to be able to have a decent 4X4 shop nearby that you can rely on. Lot's of members here go with SDHQ too)

I haven’t had an issue with my Toytec suspension, what got me to buy from them was a combination of: good reputation, price and the fact that they’re a Colorado company. I did a lot of research before I bought, and have been pretty satisfied with how my Radflo C/O’s and Boss shocks perform. May not be a “Cadillac smooth” ride, but I knew for the price I wasn’t going to get that. Somewhere down the road I’ll upgrade if I need to, but I’m happy with what I’ve got now. I don’t have any experience with FBG.

Not sure how old this thread is and not going to look for it AND that's not important. The important part of this thread is the information everyone provided. I can't believe I read through the entire thread.. very informational indeed!

I have a 2007 Tundra 4X4 Limited Double Cab 5.7L TRD Off Road. I changed wheels from 18" to 20" last year.. thinking I was going to lift it then.. bad idea when you didn't have the $ to lift then.

Bought this truck brand new in 2007. Had it since and it never failed me.. not once. I am interested in lifting the truck now. I am thinking 3" to 4.5". I don't do off road but I do fish and hunt (from Georgia by the way). I don't do extreme hauling either.. but once in a while will haul my boat to the lake. And will pack my all my gears on the truck - less 500 lbs. This is my ride so I drive it to FL, AL, TN, SC, WI, NC, MI, MN, OK, ARK and etc. often... you name it...

A good gentleman at ToyTec gave me solid recommendation but before making the final decision, I thought to check and see if y'all can recommend other lift kit for my Tundra.

    I am a NOOB! :)

ToyTec is my go to place. I do know most folks there which is a good thing. Many of them have their Toyotas spiffed up for Colorado style off roading. I get to see these rigs up close and personal. They specialize in Toyotas which is a huge plus and use what they sell. I've always gotten great advice from ToyTec. I am biased for good reason. There are other great off road shops mentioned here by members that also have that special relationship too. Can't go wrong using them either. Hardest part is deciding what you want. From what you described I recommend ToyTec's Eibach front coil overs and maybe their add a leaf or shackle for the rear with Boss shocks.
