Help!! Lift and wheels.

Ok guys, I know how I sound right now but I'm new to all of this. First truck first forum. Well not first truck but first lift. I just bought rough country leveling kit. (2.5") to go with it some xd rims (18x9 25 offset). I have a guy that can get me toyo tires for 50% off but I have to know what size I need. There is the problem I have no idea what size I would need. I called the place I bought the rims and he told me 305 65 18, I have now stock 275/70 18. The tires that I want do not show that tire size the rim guy told me. What can I put in my truck to make it look aggressive without any timing or rubbing. The tires I want are toyo open country m/t. Thanks for any help

 

Just because its easy to install and I don't know much of leveling kits.

 

Dude your gonna hate your ride quality so much after putting on that RC level. Mine sucked bad afterwards lol. Go with the Bilstein 5100's. They're a tad ($60) more expensive but well worth it.

 

Do you think it would effect my rims if I were to change the leveling kit.

As far as spacing is concerned

 

Bilstein 5100 is a better way to level your truck over spacers. At the top setting, it should be essentially same as the leveling kit you were thinking about. (same as far as spacing is concerned)

I have 3.5 inch OME lift with 295/70/18 and I had to push the plastic wheel well liner a bit (but then again, I have 18 mm offset wheels). For 2.5 inch lift, I personally would go with something smaller. But then again, there are some members with this size tire who love this set-up.

Here are some tire options:

305/65/18 (BFG AT KO2 is offered in this size)
295/70/18 (Nitto Toyo, both MT and AT, Cooper ST MAXX, Coopper STT Pro (this is a new tire, and it looks awesome))
295/65/18 (GoodYear DuraTrac)
275/70/18 (A lot of choices in this size)

I would skip 285/65/18 (they tend to be needlessly expensive)

 

Dude thank you so much for the info. Really helpful. I looked into the bilstein 5100 looks like they r back ordered till march.. so that sucks for me. But definitely going to look more into the shocks route instead. Yeah I'm looking for more of a pitbull stance. Short n wide with jus the leveling kit.

 

Another question for you. I really want the toyo open country r/t tire. But the closest size they offer is 285 75 18,would you think it would fit with only a 2.5 lift? They r 34s

 

They should fit. I'm a 2.5" and my tires were right at 35" when new.

 

Good news just ordered bilstein 5100 on carid. Kinda pricy 198$ for the front 2. Now gotta get my tires.

I would think that will be fine. I'm only at 2 1/2" and fit 295/70/18.

 

i have 325-60-18 toyo open country atII and i only get rubbing at full lock in reverse and i also have a good stance on my truck

Personally, I would not go as large as possible. Mine are 34.5 in diameter on 3.5 inch OME lift. But I noticed, during the winter months, I have to chip away the ice inside the wheel well quite often. In other words, I feel that the tires are too stuffed.

With a 2.5 inch lift, I personally would look at 275/70/18 (or 295/65/18). Both are 33 inches are in diameter and functionally efficient. These are not tiny either. Just to give you an idea, here's stock tire with 275/70/18 DuraTrac (I know tires are larger when it's not mounted, but you get the idea). The truck had the lift already when the picture was taken.

Okay guys, let's say I have to go 4 inch lift. Any recommendations for what kind of kit?

 

35x12.50's the truck is only leveled you can fit 285's.

 

That truck is sick!! OK I'm at ease now.

 

All I hadid to do is remove the front splash shields and the mud flaps to fit the tires with no rubbing for daily driving. A cab mount chop would be needed to clear to full stuff.

Your truck is exactly the look I want for mine.

 

The cab mount needs to be cut and replated in order to compress the suspension to the bump stops. If your only driving on the road you most likely won't need it at long as your alignment is pushed forward.

Update, just got my tires and new bilstein 5100s but now gotta get everything installed, questions: what should n also shouldn't pay to have tires mounted leveling kit installed and rims put in. I have everything juz need someone to install. No idea what is a good price or rip off

 

I would get a ~3 quotes and go with someone who is in the middle price-wise. I normally install things myself so I can't help with exact prices ...except the tires I'll have the tire shop mount and balance them. Ballpark $50-60 for lifetime spin/balance
