Rough Country 30" lightbar

Anyone running this bar and have it set to come on with high beams?

Well they sent me a curved light bar. Now I got to see if it will work.

 

Nope. Curved light bar will not work with the mounts. Got to send it back and wait on a straight one.

I gave them a call, guy was super nice and kept saying, I'm so sorry. Lol. Hell, people make mistakes, I ain't got any complaints with them so far.

Looks like all it would need is a small tweak of the mounts to make the curved bar work, see now my wheels are turning, look what you started.

 

Yes, I think if you bent the mounts, just past the light mounting holes, put a small outward bend in them, it would work. It looked pretty good in the spot, since the bumper has a slight curve to it. But, the light stuck out a little bit further than the bumper, but not much.

 

You have the rough country brackets? I don't mind altering/bending and possibly re-drilling to make it sit right where I want it.

 

Yep, I have the rough country brackets. To get it to sit inside the bumper, you'd have to cut, bend and redrill the bracket. Trust me, it will look alot better than the straight bar.

 

That's about what I was figuring it would take, and I agree about looking better, it drives me nuts how the ends of the bar stick out.

Well, guess I'm gonna find out soon if it's possible, curved black series 30" and brackets are on their way.

 

Well, question answered. Tonight I installed the Rough Country 30" curved single row black series LED bar in the bumper opening. Used Rough Country's mounts had to re-drill the hole for the bar mounting an inch further back and cut the excess off of the mount.

 

Damn, that looks alot better than the straight bar. Should've kept the curved bar they sent me and done this. Nice job.

 

Man! The more I see the 2018 headlights I'm ready throw my wallet to the dealership!!! It all looks BA!

 

I like the 18 headlights as well, I just can't justify the cost.

 

Did you take the rough country brackets and add the curved light bar? I've asked RC (in the online chat) if the brackets can be purchased separately and was told no, I don't really feel like purchasing two light bars if I can help it.

 

He did, but the mounts need some modifications.

 

You can purchase the brackets seperate, but you have to call rough country to do it, they will not sell them seperate online (their website doesn't have them listed seperate, so they will tell you no in the online chat). The total was $289.90 to my door. In order to get the curved bar to sit far enough back, you have to drill the bar mounting hole back an inch on each bracket and then cut off the excess bracket with the old mounting hole that you no longer need. I will give you this heads up, it sucks ass to reach those 2 bolts to tighten them up, since they are now just behind the plastic and not in front of it.

 

Here's a screenshot of my invoice, if you need the salesmans name to get someone to sell the brackets and bar seperate. He was happy to sell them to me, but told me that he wouldn't take any responsibility if the brackets didn't work with the curved bar.

 

I wish I had kept the curved bar.

Just pick a 30" straight bar and Rago makes the brackets you want.

 

Ya im pricing it all.out now,with the led fogs so its all led,roughly 900 for all but there might be discounts or sales im not aware of.
