    Hello all,

We is been almost year since I added a set of LED bulbs to my license plate. They came in a set of 9 led's for including interior, for my Tundra, bought them off Amazon for like $10.

I don't know wether because they were cheap but recently I noticed that the both flicker on and off while on and engine going. They stay lit at time and then they blink or flicker on and off. I tried taking them out and plugging back but in time they still do it, I thought maybe they are loose or vibrate loose and cause that because the wires are good.

Maybe I might try these but for $30, I'de had it if they still did it but maybe they are more solid built?

Your best bet is buying the Sylvanias they are a trusted brand not the cheap looking bulbs HLR sell they are Chinese overpriced junk

I used this Sylvanias in my Tacoma first and then swapped them to my Tundra almost 4 years now and Zero flickering or issues with them

When I bought mines they were rare and remember I paid around $39 for a pair from Amazon but now they are really affordable

I remember they were OSRAM branded that’s same Sylvanias but OSRAM is used for Europe market

When I first bought the Sylvania ZEVO Super bright LEDs for tail lights..l was like too cool but afraid to buy cause they were $40 and I bought from AutoZone and they told me they wouldn't take back if opened.. so I took a chance they worked sorta...brake light worked no parking...flipped around parking worked no brake.. at the time I didn't know about CK socket..so I emailed Sylvania about it they said they are working on it...they asked me for original packaging and receipt and mailed me a set that works and a prepaid envelope for ones I bought...they refunded me what I paid

Are the license plate LEDs too bright / distracting when using the backup cam at night?

GTR Lighting LEDs are not junk. I have the reverse and cargo bulbs and they are both very bright. Wasn’t interested in license plate. Looking to go GTR inside next. Good luck.

Never understood spending money on LEDs for license plate bulbs. Do you want to make the license plate more visible and why?

Once I started changing to LED, I noticed how yellow the halogens were. Between that and buying my wife a new Honda Accord that has LEDs which are whiter and brighter than my OEM Tundra headlights, etc. were. Now all are changed to LED inside and out!. 2018 OEM LED headlights/fogs made a big difference.

Well I finally switched out my flickering LED plate bulbs with these, the older cheap LED's are in the package!

    So far no blinking!

    Thanks for the help
