Take her out unexpectedly to someplace you never gone.

I actually don’t mind cooking for my queen, sitting by the fire without kids and relaxing.

I agree with the Kendra Scott idea listed above. A few more ideas. Set up a manicure spa day for her and her best friend. Not only will she be relaxing but her best friend will also being singing to your wife how great of a husband you are. What I tend to do is through out the year whenever I hear my wire mention something she wants or needs I write it down in my phone notes for her bday, valentines or Christmas time. This way she is impressed that I remembered something she mentioned for only a moment. Also having something sent to her work will win you some big thinking ahead points. If you take her to dinner you can drop of flowers to the restaurant in advance and they will have them waiting at your table for her when you arrive. I've done this and my wife couldn't stop smiling. Funniest part was all the other wives and girlfriends looking at my wife's flowers and their significant others wondering. Lol I hope this helps with some ideas.

I get away pretty easy. 40 bucks from Amazon. I have her trained pretty good, after 34 years she knows how I feel. I told her years ago, if you want a man with more money it's cool if you leave. For some damn reason she won't leave !! lol111.jpg

I stopped taking my wife to dinner on Valentine's day years ago. IMO it's the worst day of the year to go out. The restaurants are all about numbers. They move you around like cattle, food is usually lacking because of the number of people they are trying to serve, and they over charge for what you get.

I take a few hours off from work to be sure I get home before her on Valentine's day. I cook a nicer than normal meal. I use the nice China that normally collects dust. I get a really good bottle of wine. Most importantly I clean the kitchen before she gets home. You can make the best meal ever but if the kitchen looks like a war zone your done.

The weekend after Valentine's day is her weekend. Not see you later I'll be in the garage it's antique stores, hold my purse while I try this on, and how do you like these shoes day.

She deserves way more than this so do it randomly when it's not expected.

My wife hates Valentine's Day, so we have an agreement that we don't make a big fuss over it. Because of work and such, I'm not sure we have ever spent an actual V-Day together.
I usually surprise her with plans for a small trip. A weekend getaway without kids. Plan it for a weekend coming up when you know you can both take a Friday off and have a long weekend.

I couldn't agree more about diner at restaurants on Valentine's Day. It's definitely cramped at most restaurants. I make diner at home now like you suggested. There are some restaurants that also have private dining which is also a good fail safe if you can't cook.

I hear long tube headers and a tuner all all the rage with the ladies this year...

Seriously though, I agree with the fellas above... trying to go out Valentine’s Day is a nightmare.... my wife and I don’t really celebrate it... there’s Christmas... her birthday is in January, mines the end of February... we don’t need another manufactured gift giving extravaganza in between. AND.... if your SO is wanting something/ expecting something... I’d go with the home cooked dinner and MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN UP... she will notice and appreciate the effort and time you put in... then give her a special day of what she likes to do... whether it includes you or not... for instance, my wife LOVES massages... so I always make sure she is stocked with massage gift certificates to her favorite massage therapist. Good luck and let us know how it goes...
oh yeah... I like the humorous/ funny cards too... but I write something heartfelt inside

I usually keep it low key. I’ll have roses delivered to her and that’s about it. Some years I’ll make an attempt to cook a meal too.
