As part of trying to get my studio off the ground again, I need some new portfolio images and not just random onesies twosies. I need to start building series. Images with a consistent theme. That's where you guys come in. Maybe it's you and maybe you know someone.

I have a couple of ideas. One of which is based around what I would call 'creators'. People who build things whether full time or as a hobby. Wood, metal, cars, bikes, art, land. Anything that gets created with your hands. The common theme is the creation process itself.

What I'd like to do is combine high end location portraits with documentary work. So, create a handful of portrait images then follow you around and document how and what you create. Mostly stills but maybe a wee bit of video. I'd also add some text from a few light interview questions that would fill in the why. These would then go on the website and into promo mailers which means I'll need you to sign a release form. I am also tinkering with the idea of making a book.

For right now, I'd like to keep this to folks within about a 1.5-2 hour radius from my place. So, Colorado Springs to Ft. Collins then a little bit east and a little bit west. Eventually, I'd like to expand that which is why I'm asking here rather than just the CO thread.

In return for your time, I'll give you low-res copies of everything and make you a print from an image of your choosing.

    So, anyone interested?

Too bad I'm too far away. Maybe it's a good excuse for you and the family to make a trip to Cali and take some aerial classes from my daughters. All I do create stuff by hand. Warrenpelz.com
In the next couple of weeks I'll be creating a bathroom floor and making it look like a pond. I've created some Koi fish and lily pad tiles in clay and my mother in law glazed and fired for me. I'm pouring concrete to cover the radiant heating tubes and will then create "cut lines" to emulate ripples in the water. Blue dye is SUPER expensive and I've discovered that I can use super cheap chalk line chalk to create the blue at a fraction of the cost.
I'll set the Koi fish and lily pad tiles into the wet concrete.

Anyhow, it's a pretty creative environment here. I built the house (doors, windows and some light fixtures too) and furniture. My mother in law made most of our plates, bowls and cups. My famous brother in law (glass blower) made our stemware, glasses and several of our light fixtures and lamps.

Holy crap. Wow. Love your work. The bathroom floor sounds amazing.

You're on the list. I'll see what I can work out.

Location precludes my involvement in this unfortunately but tooth morphology is really fascinating (to me obviously).

Good photography can really showcase good Dentistry where poor photography can hide or ruin its appearance.

Certainly an idea though to find a good dentist in your area to showcase. (Ask a local dental lab who they think is a good dentist if you don’t know where to start - they see all of our work - the good, the bad, and the ugly)

Have you looked into some distilleries or breweries around your area. Or firearm manufacturers. Magpul is just into Wyoming .Maybe some of the fishing or hunting guides.
