Front License Plate Frame

Hey guys, I'll soon be a new owner of a 2016 TRD Pro in about 3 weeks (yay). Anyway prior to arrival I'm trying to hash some things out. My first concern is the front license plate holder / frame.

On vehicles I've owned in the past, they've simply used lag screws with some generic frame for the front plate. It creates unsightly holes and is painful to think about on a brand new pro.

Does anyone know of a holeless solution or maybe something better that is cleaner, maybe key inserts? In looking about the forum I don't see much. Photos are appreciated as well

If you can fill the holes, I think it looks cleaner without a plate. I haven't ran a front plate on my last 4 vehicles. I've also been pulled over 3 times but each time is just a warning.

Normally I skirt the rules/laws as much as possible, but tickets are expensive...

 

When I took delivery of my truck in december of 2010:it already had the front plate holder installed with lag screws. Tell the dealer not to mount the holder beforehand so you can figure out what todo

 

I have already done so. They are looking for an alternative as well.

Try Skene Design. A Google search yielded many screwless/holeless license plate holders. Try YouTube too.

 

You can always leave the plate and frame in your cab where you can reach it quick if you get pulled over. Officer says " Where is your front plate?" You: " Sir, it fell off earlier today. I just haven't had the time to put it back on. I'll put it back on as soon as I get home." If that doesn't work, offer the LEO a test drive!!
