It’s scratched all over from the previous owner off-roading it and dragging branches down the sides I assume....maybe I’ll start a new thread with pics and see if it’s possible to get the majority out hmm

Sorry this happened to you, but it was defiantly a plus for me. I had a new Alpine headhunt and control box to install. Was planning on doing it myself. Well pulled the piles and piles of wiring harnesses, adapters, and jumper cables out of the boxes. decided I am just not going to be able to get drunk enough to do this job, so put everything back in the box and googled a local install shop close to work. Paid a PROFESSIONAL to do the install and more than happy.

Great decision bro, you might have been able to do it yourself but if anything messed up you’d be kickin yourself!

Your OP was the only reason. Had planned the time to do the install and the prep days to wire and assemble harness's. Once I read your OP, I kinda had that hair standing up on the back of my neck moment. When I seen the amount of work to be done, I bailed on a self install.
To anyone thinking they can install one of these like they did back in the day. RETHINK. It took a highly regarded Professional near where I work almost 6 hours to do it.

Great to hear! and AMEN to being careful on who touches the truck. When I hear folks at work saying stuff like, "I"m going to Walmart to have my oil changed" I give them a personal story from my son-in-law who was an assistant manager at a Walmart that had an automotive section. (No, most are not trained mechanics and, yes, they often do "forget" to tighten oil filters or oil plugs and they HAVE ruined engines by "forgetting" to refill the oil, etc.....true horror stories.)

So no Jiffy Lube, Grease Monkey and HECK NO to Walmart "mechanics" I have no problems going to my Toyota dealership when it's more than I want to do. (And they also check for any TSB's and wash the truck for me...and I get to look at the 2018's while I'm waiting....BONUS!)

But even after going to the dealer, I'll do a quick oil check as soon as I pull out of the garage...."trust but verify"...
