TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
210 hp doesn't really blow my skirt up. I do wish wish Toyota would do something like this. Hard to beat a Tundra even if you do have to add your own suspension.

The ranger raptors is pretty sick. Won't last as long as a tacoma.
This thing will sell like hot cakes.

369 lbft would definitely have some giddy-up on a lighter truck like that, though.

looks awesome, to me it looks better than the F150 Raptor ... the current F150 Raptor isn't crazy enough

    Love me some more competition.

The ZR2 is taking a rather large chunk out of the Tacoma decade of dominance.

yep. Toyota better wake up. ranger raptor will be cheaper than f150 raptor and still has the "raptor"name. Lot more folks will be able to afford one.

I think it's awesome. I think they will sell. I bet guys with F-150 budgets will consider going smaller for that Raptor name.

I would never buy it though, not with my budget anyway. My truck will likely never see any real off roading. With my budget, if I wanted to take something to the local off road parks I would no doubt buy a used Wrangler, modify it, and trailer it to/from the trails.

That’s why I picked up an old 4Runner. It’s been awesome and won’t be a big deal if i break it. So far it’s amazed the hell out of me and my buddies w jeeps.

That's awesome. I would defintely prefer a 4runner, however most of the older 4runner's for sale in my neck of the woods are very rusty. Parts are harder to find too. Jeeps are just more budget friendly.

I am assuming it is deceptively small. I bought a tacoma originally cause it was a mid-size and I fit in it. The rangers were always wayyyy to tiny for me.

In SoCal no rust. Just hi miles. Jeeps here are still pretty pricy unless you want an older one w leaf sprung front end.

I had a raptor for a couple years at work and will say the suspension is GREAT. It had the 6.2l plenty of power, governed at 100 though.
Currently I’m in an f150 with the eco boost. Zero power until the turbo kicks in. Then you’re spinning the wheels, then the trac control comes on. You can’t disable it completely.
I’d imagine the twin turbo diesel will have tons of torque and maybe be more manageable in loose stuff.

It looks really good. I love the Raptor and would definitely buy one if they were in my price range. But the used market for them makes the used Tacoma market look reasonable.

I'll have to disagree with you, about a jeep being more budget friendly. JustEmptyEveryPocket.

I've got around 7k in this. And it's very dependable and has hurt alot feelings in the V8 1 ton crowd.

Well that version is for the Asia Pacific area. So the U.S. version, if it ever gets here, will be different. Probably wont have the diesel. This looks likes Fords version of a Hilux.

    I'm curious of the price.

Cool truck. If I had to choose between that and the tacoma PRO I'd give it a long look.
I wonder how many of the taco guys who have always said they want a mid size diesel will buy this if it comes to the US.
I couldn't go back to a mid size though. And unless Toyota does something amazing, Idk if I could part with the V8 either. Until I'm forced to anyway.

So, a Tacoma TRD Pro will set you back $40k+. Any bets this thing will be pushing $50k and that is only if it gets introduced to U.S.A.?

If/ when it does there is no way it comes with a diesel. I would rather have my Tundra Pro for the same price.

Pudge, too funny. I remember those. BTW, my daily driver/commuter is a mazda 3. Love that little 5 speed. I remember when the rangers and b2600 I think, were identical.
I had a 04 Silverado 2500 diesel and the engine was made by Isuzu. I laughed, all the light generators I’ve worked with had Isuzu engines. They seemed to work ok. Loved that truck, but....divorce happens.

The "Helux" is a Diesel Tacoma that has been around for years in other parts of the world. It was also the first true crewmax cab for the taco too... 20 years ago maybe I could be a little off but I'm sure they have little to worry about with the new "Gecko" Ranger ...please, as cool as it looks, that's about all it's worth for the $

50k plus mark up at least that's how it is in SoCal.
I've seen the current F150 raptor with a markup as high as 25k.
