so? who watched it? that was the coolest thing i'd seen since the first time i saw the shuttle launch when i was a kid. watching the boosters land simultaneously was jaw dropping.

there's a live feed of starman driving the tesla to mars too...

That was unbelievable. For those who don't follow SpaceX's launches, it wasn't even known if the thing would explode right after launch or not. Primary mission was a surprising success. Secondary mission of landing all three rockets safely was almost a complete success. RIP center core. Looking forward to hearing why the center core didn't stick its landing (the two side boosters did stick theirs perfectly, though).

Very cool stuff. I'm still amazed that they can land those boosters like that. Incredible

I was too busy, running around the Fremont factory so didn't get a chance to watch it live. The synchronized landing was incredible. I gave it a 10 :)

I had the TV on mute during the delay and I started wondering. If it had blown up, could Musk file a claim with his auto insurance company?

It was also the kind of thrill I used to feel during the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo launches.

I actually teared up because I was so proud. I don't even work at space x but it just made me feel so good to see the proof that unless we get together to break boundaries, we are wasting our time. Think about the implications that this will have on youngsters or adults. This will push them into science, learning, sharing info instead of hate, bigotry, and jealousy, they will now join together to create something fkin amazing because they want to be the ones behind the next thing that drops everyone's jaws.

I ran to the back of the fire station to see the launch. Sadly, most of it was obscured by low clouds, but a portion of it was visible.

I can barely toss a bean bag onto a cornhole board and we've got people sticking rocket boosters on bullseyes after falling from space...

    Freaking amazing.

Official highlight video now up. Shortly after 1:10 is our first glimpse of what happened to the center booster (it ran out of the liquid used to re-ignite its engines):
