Just started wondering after reading another thread. Has anyone experienced problems using the factory TPMS with these wheels?

You may want to specify which oem wheels. My alum wheels TPMS works fine.

What problems did you read about? My TPMS light just came on, going back up to the tire shop here in a bit to see what the deal is

Don’t believe it has anything to do with the wheels after looking it appears the shop replaced one of my valve stems with an aftermarket one...not sure why they did this but if I had to guess that’s the tire that’s triggering the light.

I sold them for $450. I thought that was a hell of a deal for the buyer.

I read about people switching from steel to aluminum wheels. Something about one TPMS having a seven digit part number and the other having a eight digit number.

The sensors is a direct sway if your OEM wheels are alloy. If you have steelies then you're going to need new sensors made for alloy wheels or if the shop is willing, have them flip the sensors to make them usable. Doing this requires being extra careful when mounting and dismounting the the tire. You would always have to let the tire guy know ahead of time otherwise, he will most likely break the sensor when he breaks the bead from the wheel.

Are you guys having your dealership do these? Im scared of some knucklehead in a tire shop that just got hired last week attempting to mount the tires on these and scratching them.

Whoever you decide to take it to, just make sure and request that they use back coning when they try to balance the wheels/tires.

I have a feeling that’s the exact same question I’m going to get from the technician when I ask him to make sure he backcones them....lol

Just received my bronze, with machined lip, SR8 wheels! I was amazed that I was able to order, as I was trying to get some for our 4Runner on the 24th and they sold out in seconds! Thanks Vin!

I'm dying to see some pics of these on a cement as well... I'm trying not to spend anything on cosmetic upgrades right now but these pics of these wheels are looking darn sexy.
