7584CE69-12A0-42B2-BE20-87E8ECC2CD24.jpg Hi all. I wanted to start a thread for all us 3rd gen. long bed lovers. I LOVE my truck and glad I waited for it. I built it with Duff at Carlsbad Toyota and he ordered it for me. First ever 2018 Tundra SR5 4X4 Dbl Cab Long Bed with TRDOR package in Cement. Graphite interior with Entune Premium, TRD rear sway bar, spray in bed liner and deck rails all from factory.
Here is a video of when I picked up the truck.

Sweet... wish they had cement when I ordered mine. I would not own a full size pickup without the 8' bed!!

Same here. That was the only way I was going to buy another tundra. My first color choice was a quicksand for the tundra. Toyota wouldnt build it for me so cement was my next option. Quicksand was the only color they would not build a 18 in.

I am perfectly happy with cement. Its a beautiful color. I only plan on tint and SDHQ sliders for now. I wish I could afford a SC but I need to pay it off first. Sound system is an option but I cant just add a amp and subs. The ********* thing is cool but pricey too. I am older now so bumping with windows down isnt cool either.

What mods did you do to yours?

    Good looking truck!
I liked the ride of the long bed, extended cab Chevy I had. The long wheelbase is nice on the highway.

The ride is great. I never knew how smooooooooth and fast the 5.7 was. I have a 2000 Tundra 4.7 and a 2014 FJ 4.0 and this thing feels totally faster. The other trucks you kinda have to push to pick up passing speed on the highways. The power of the 5.7 is so linear and always responsive.

I'm thinking Toyota only makes long beds mostly when they are ordered by the end customers. Pay off the truck before unnecessary mods was the best plan for me.
Yea I'm old too and I run machines for a living so the last thing I need is a bumping stereo but I did have 4_ 12s in my Tacoma when I was younger. That and having a kid and cartoons on all the time and I love peace and quiet . Lol. I put in tie down rings on the bed floor, hd side steps, frac system, locker down safes front and back. That's about it. If I ever need to blow money it's not hard to do on a tundra.

Thanks. I will take some pics of the interior one day. I really like the graphite seats. Not sure if you guys are like my friends and I. We were enjoying the smell of the motor and hot metal of the truck when they were checking it out. Its wierd. I know.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
Perhaps, they have changed somethings from 2007 to the 2018 5.7. The power on my 2nd generation is definitely not linear. The power rolls in and peaks around 3-4k RPM, then it seems to start decrease after 4500 RPM. It is definitely a super sensitive gas pedal as well.

I heard they made some changes on the 3rd gens so the 5.7 is more linear, I have never driven one to see for myself...

    Long Bed Lover?
I guess if you are a lover a long bed is more practical then a short bed, especially if one of you is taller then 5'6".

I don't know where that came from..........my mind is out of the gutter again.

Nice. It's been so long since I've seen a Tundra with an eight foot bed that it really stands out. Do you think that it will be a little more challenging to find aftermarket stuff like a bed mat or cover? I have the 6.5 and it seemed like the options were a little more limited than other trucks.

I really like that truck! The set up looks great. What % tint is that? MGM was my 3rd choice if no cement. Have been thinking about tow mirrors too. I would’ve kept that beauty. Hiw much was trade in vs same truck except regular bed?

The regular tundra/trd pro dual exhaust doesn’t fit. The bed mat and cover should still be same as 2014+. We almost have the same options as far as parts. Only difference is the longer bed, which means i have a lot of extra room behind the gas tank.

Thanks. That's the "Radiant Red" I didn't have much choice for color as the regular cabs were very limited in my area, but it's grown on me a lot. Once I've done the chrome deletes I'll be happy.

I don’t know the tint%, it was the same as the factory rear tint. While the tow mirrors are nice, they inevitably get knocked off, mine did twice. Definitely wanted to keep, wife insists I be reasonable. Bought new in October 2011, sold outright in February 2016 for $3,000 less than I purchased it for with 28k ish miles. Can’t beat that..., and it did work.

Very cool having the 8' box and the bigger cab. Have you run this configuration before? How do you find it navigating parking lots, etc etc?

Must ride like a champ with that wheelbase.

I have a 2000 tundra access cab. Kind of the same. Turns are a little wider but the on road ride is great. I feel like less truck hop goong around turns and gassing it. Parking lots suck in this thing. Takes up 1.5 parking spots but I dont have a problem parking further away from others. I’ve driven a 26’ box truck so this is easy peasy.

Right on. As a Carpenter I definitely get it. If I had this vs my single cab I could get away without having the toolbox behind the cab.

I think its definitely a great buy for my needs. The 6.5 bed of the 2000 was good but having to lay stuff on top of my tailgate then tying it became tiresome. Plus my 2000 has a camper and not having the ability to haul anything standing up taller than my camper sucked.
