Do yourself a favor and get an LG OLED set (or a Sony OLED if you can afford it). The picture is absolutely amazing. I've always bought Sony TVs and bought a Sony 9000 series a year ago, but ended up taking it back due to clouding issues. I got an LG B6 and was blown away by the colors. Best picture I've seen on a TV, hands down (the "old" Panasonic plasmas were close).

Haha, yeah, I wasn't really paying attention to the 75" part. My bad! In that case I'd definitely go with a Sony. I find their colors to be more "real" looking and not over-saturated like the Samsungs. Sonys also play nicer with receivers if you have surround sound...

The battle is on with Samsung and there Quantum Dot Technology vs OLED . Samsung says there new technology produces better colors than OLED and comparable black levels. I will never try to keep up with technology, but eventually will succumb to the newer technology . Samsung apps are great and user friendly. Good luck

I’ve found it’s just the main 4-6 apps I use, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix , YouTube etc not a great AppStore but picture is amazing and I love how it works with my Samsung smarth8ngs as a smart home extender

Would have to come down to a 65" though, anything bigger is way to much money.

I’m in the market for another Flatscreen, so I will have to watch this thread.

We just purchased 3 Sharp 70” flatscreens at work and they are pretty nice. All our other flatscreens are Samsung.

So I have Samsung home smarthub. It allows you to manage devices in your home...it connects to the TVs, lights, door locks. From any where in the world with WiFi I can answer the front door, speak with whoever is at the door, open and close garage , set alarm, control temp, lights etc...and it’s very affordable to do..love being able to lower volume on kiddos tv from downstaris.Samsung built in the software to help power this network into their TV’s

What a way to start my Sunday morning. The wife says the tv is not coming on . Ok I'm thinking something simple Here. Nope TV won't power up. Tried powering on with button in the back vs remote , nothing.. This is a Samsung Smart Led 55" Model# UN55H7150AFXZA . NOT the flagship model , but one of there better tv's at the time I purchased it, which was Nov 14. So this tv is 3.5 years old. Did some researching to find out Samsung has had major problems with their capacitators . To the point where there was a class action lawsuit against them in 2012. As much research I do on shit, how this eluded me is beyond me. Guess you could call me a fanboy when it comes to Samsung tv's. Calling in the morning to see if I got extended warranty. If not I don't think im gonna deal with the BS with repairing it. From what I've read it's better to take your loss, if so this will be the end for me and Samsung. I know you can have problems with all brands, but 1 thing that stood out was the lack of help and customer service people were talking about. :annoyed::curls::censored:. Sorry for the long rant.

Regardless of what Samsung says, LGs OLED is much better IMO. I don’t chase tech either, our main TV is an 11 yr old 50” Panasonic plasma, but am tying to hold out on getting a new one until the next price drop on the 65” LG OLED. Hopefully ours lasts until then.

I always wonder what viewing range you guys getting 75" tvs are at. I have a 65" where my chair is 25ft away and a 55" that I sit about 15" from. I tried a 75" in the large room but felt I was missing action and having to look around on the screen trying to take it in.

We have a Toshiba that is about 9 years old, same thing just happened. I may try fixing it myself or getting it repaired as now is not a good time for me to make a big purchase. Seems like there is a voltage regulator, a fuse, and two resistors with a fuse. Requires some handy work with a circuit board but it may be worth a try.

Otherwise I will be buying a low end 60" or 65".

Update on my Samsung. The motherboard went. Cost for parts and labor=$220. So shit happens and i can't complain about the $200 vs 2k+ for an OLED. Main thing here is the wife is happy, and you married men know the saying. Really just trying to stretch this tv out till the prices come down on OLED'S. Salute!

    Nice!!
I removed the power board from my Toshiba, having someone look at it. Hoping it can be repaired cheap. If not, budget insignia here I come. When the time is right an OLED will take it's place.
