I've been shopping for a Tundra Limited/Platinum and most I come across that fit my budget are 2010 or 2012. Anyone know the major differences or improvements? I've found a few lower mileage 2010's that interest me, but I'm worried maybe the 2012's are better. Any feedback is helpful! Thanks.

Not much difference at all. Service records/one owner would make the difference for me.

The front brake backing plate was changed out in late 12' to help with hot rotors. There is also a TSB on this issue. Most people just put quality rotors/pads on and have no issues. I wouldn't be scared to buy a 2010.

Not sure if there is any difference for the bed rust or cam tower leaks between the '10 and '12 but I would look closely at those two potential problems on a used one, my '10 only has 42k miles, had since new and has both those issues.

not a damn thing except minor things like what others have mentioned.

I'd just let the owner and car history lead my decision.

In terms of major mechanical issues, I am not aware of any difference between 2010 and 2012.

In terms of some minor conveniences, there are some.

Some trims of 2010 did not come with a backup camera. I am not sure what year, but some year later, it became standard through all trims. I installed Pioneer backup camera on mine along with Pioneer HU.

There are some feature that were present in 2010 that were taken away in later models. The following are some of them.
    -valet key
    -sliding console
-cigarette lighter that stayed on for 2 hours after the engine is turned off.
    -courtesy lights on the doors

For me, I don't use the hot cigarette lighter often. But I do use the sliding console regularly. Courtesy lights on the doors are nice too.

That is where I started my budget. It is doable depending on mileage you will accept. I added a few K to the budget then went out of state for low mileage supercharged. If you are willing to travel you could find something at a good price.

One of the dealers I talked to was Rodgers Toyota (Lewiston, ID), not that far from you (shorter than where I went). Did awesome walk around's on the truck in video format for me to review so I knew exactly what I would travel for. Good guys, did not buy from them but put them in the list for next Toyota! If you call them ask for David Bradley. Tell him the Guy from Denver recommend them.

    Good Luck!
