Well, my tundra is do for it first service and looking for input on a good place for service in NWI. Have not heard anything good with the local dealers which is why the dealer i bought the tundra from is over 3 hours way so if I have to go there I guess I will but hoping some on the forum might have some good options closer.

    Thanks in advance....

Brimaster, I'm in your neck of the woods.
Sorry, no feedback on dealer warranty/maintenance work. I think you did well to avoid Merrillville and Chesterton. Mine is well out of warranty and I use an excellent private mechanic who retired as Toyota master mechanic. Please post your experiences after using Team.

well, got the 5000 mile deal today at Team Toyota. Got in and out pretty quick around 40 minutes or so. I don't think that is probably normal as with the pounding of snow not many customers came in. they said i was the 8th person in today and I was there for a 3 PM appointment.
The service advisor that took care of me was decent.
The waiting area was typical I guess and they had free water and coffee everything else was on you from a vending machine. Although the dealer I bought the tundra from all there stuff was free of charge but they are in a different market being over 3 hours away.
If not for the Toyota Care it would have been $111.79.

So I guess the next time the tundra is do will try Team again.

My local dealer is Bob Rohrman. Is that who you are talking about that is 3 hours away? They have always been very good to me for my Tundra and my wife’s rav4.

Rohrman in Lafayette was one of the few our list when looking for a tundra on line but never made it there. We got our tundra from Ed Martin in Anderson.

I got my Tundra from Texas, Rohrman wanted way to much for the ones on there lot. But so far they have done us right, if you ever make it this far south for any services.

So...I'll add another positive note for Team Toyota. I'm collecting the parts to do my 100K mile service on my 1st gen and called every dealer in the area to inquire about the price of Toyota Long Life red coolant. They are BY FAR the cheapest on the authentic stuff. In fact, they are cheaper than the DIY places are on aftermarket coolant. I was quite surprised.

Lakeshore was obscene with their prices...not sure how they sustain themselves with their business model.

My dad and myself have gotten all of our Toyotas from Team, except for the Tundra. If Mike is still in service, talk to him. You also have Planet in Matteson, IL if you want to jump the border or Toyota Merrillville. I haven't had any service work done at either. I would stay away from Advantage in Lansing. Not that they are bad, just get an odd feeling from dealing with them. I grew up in the area, so let me know if you have any questions.

Got the 10,000 mile service done. Had scheduled a 7:30 appointment and got out of there around 9:45 or so.

I guess my understanding of a scheduled appointment and theirs is different. Not sure what the sense is of making an appointment if they do the first come first served.

Man I truly hate going to the dealer...............

Well, gave Team Toyota another try to check on a creak that i was told was the skid plate. Was there over 2 hours for them to tell me that and nothing else was done.
Was heading down to the US Nationals last weekend and I would turn 15,000 so figured to take it back to the dealer I bought the truck from on and scheduled an appointment for Thursday afternoon for the 15,000 service. Was there just about an hour which included a car wash and was treated 100% better. Have made the decision that I'll do the 2 hour drive down to have them do the service moving forward and never step foot in Team Toyota again.

Ever try Heart City in Elkhart, IN ? Have had my 2012 Tundra serviced there for 4 years and just bought new 2019 from them. Wife just bought Rav4 from them. Have only had one or two complaints, otherwise have always treated me well and seem to be reasonable.

I bought 4 toyotas from team in the last 3 years for myself and others. Service is always slow and the salesman I dealt with is not there any longer. Spend two hours for an oil change or drive 4 hours and spend an hour there for a better treatment isnt worth it to me. I bought my Tundra from Andy Morh toyota in Avon because every dealer in NWI thought Tundras were made out of gold. I know they do not like getting bad reviews so talk to the service manager next time at team.
