Let's see what great tools you have in your garage. I'm a strong believer of using the right tool for the right job so I buy a lot of tools. I think I might need therapy. I bought this one last month but have not used it yet. I'm confident the next brake job is going to be easier than the last one.

    All I need.

If I can’t tape it, I use a small channel lock. If that doesn’t work, a pipe wrench can be used to wrench or a hammer. If all else fails, that is what the lighter is for...burn it.

I don't have a garage, but I do have more tools than an Al Gore lecture. Far too many to post here.

I’ve spent more on mechanic’s tools than I did on my Tundra. Heck, my toolbox alone cost more than my first three vehicles combined.

That’s for work and at home though. When you earn a living with them it’s easier to justify :D, at least when you don’t have da mad skillz like @ColoradoTJ. :(

Though I have done some pretty crazy things when on roadside service calls to get a rig moving again.

Started collecting Craftsman tools in my 20s when they were truly meant to last a lifetime and I have amassed quite a collection - I like to work on projects and you MUST have the right tool for the job, right?

    Well......

The third bay is packed. Not sure I have a picture of the total mess, but I do have a little peak of the engine hoist and welder. :D

Since I work planes for a living, my tool box and most of my tools are standard sizes (almost entirely all older Craftsman) which does me little to no good working on my Toyota or needing to fix something on the wife’s car. I threw together a couple of cheap tools that I keep in my truck for minor vehicle maintenance task, as I leave the major and computer stuff to the so called pros. Once I get into some more heavy duty upgrading I will slowly invest in more truck specific tools.

In the meantime though I did pick up this nice all metric 1/4 drive set on Amazon a few weeks ago, it has most of all the tools for basic repair task and fits nicely in the glovebox.

Buying the right tool for the job is still cheaper than having someone else do the work, and then you have a tool for next time.
