Traded my '16 Limited and picked up an '18 Platinum in Barcelona Red Metallic earlier this month. I really like the updates to the '18 and the upgrades on the Platinum.

Thanks! I think so, too. I had a '13 DCSB TRD Sport Taco in this color and it's always been my favorite. I had been contemplating upgrading to an '18 but when I saw this one sitting out front on display in the sunlight it was a done deal. I haggled with the dealer over email for a week and finally got them down to my number on new year's eve via email and picked it up the following week.

You are going to love it. The 18’s have so many nice improvements, big difference from my 16.

So many beautiful trucks. I am a new Toyota tundra owner, After being a devout Ford owner for many years, I experienced a lot of problems with my Eco boost motor in my 2012 F150. I sold back the truck and walked away after buying a used tundra off the ford lot. I then traded in the Tundra on a new 2018 Platinum Silver sky Crewmax. I love the truck and find myself lost with all the bells and whistles and really love the LED headlights and fog lamps. One thing that I don't understand is why they don't come with remote start, am I wrong?
I want to put a leveling kit in but will likely wait till the Spring as it is cold and snowy. What leveling kit is the best to use?
    TIA, Glenn

Welcome, Glenn! You're right, they don't come with remote starts but they definitely should, especially at this price point. A lot of guys/gals on here have added the Viper remote start (and I'm sure many other brands). As far as leveling kits, the Bilstein 5100s are one of the less expensive ways to level it out, but @ToyTec Lifts is a popular brand on the site. They are active on the site and take great care of their customers. I know they'll answer any question you have about lifts/levels if you reach out to them. Also, post some pics of your truck when you can.

Tuesday I drove home from Texarkana through some weird slippery cold stuff someone spewed all over the ground. It really messed my 2016 2wd 4.6 TSS up.
    IMG_3005 2.jpg IMG_3007 2.jpg IMG_3006 2.jpg

Being from Louisiana and thinking it must be ruined forever, I freaked out and traded it in just like it was on a 2018 4x4 5.7 TSS the next day.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I was just on Toytecs website and like the 2.5 leveling kit. What Im looking for is a slight stance improvement and rid the truck of its rake. I had a bedliner sprayed in a couple of days ago and while there the tech. Recomended Readylift, (they also do offroad lifts). He went on to say do a 3-2 lift, 3” front and 2” rear. This would not change the geometry of the vehicle and no alignment would be needed

aren't most ready lifts just spacer's which is bad if you have too much extension/compression?

I intended to get the plat as well, but I much prefer 18s over 20s and like the 1794 interior a lot more than I thought I would.

I didn't like the interior color and all of the chrome on the 1794; all of the Plats and 1794s I looked at came with 20s. Didn't even think about negotiating for 18s. I found some TRD 18s locally on Craigslist; sold my 20s there too along with the OEM tires. All good now. I love the comfort of the seats in my Plat and I didn't realize how easy it was to change out the chrome at the time of purchase. I've also never had silver before; black interior was not my first choice, but that's what the Plat came with. Glad I decided on the Plat. Sounds like you prefer the 1794 interior (good for you); all of the other stuff can easily be changed with a little $$. Glad you found what you're looking for!

you could always swap the 20's for 18's if they are oem rims/tires. they have the same circumference. also the plat had fender flares added that are no longer oem add-on.
