A tad rough, but tolerable

    @Sean266 ,
Is there a way to "soften" up the P.C/Toytec coilover setup? I went w/ the silvers, because I despise the color red (on my truck). Even knowing the reds were "softer".
I don't mind the roughness as much, but the wifey would like it a bit softer.
They're set @ roughly 2". Due to having the MaxTrac Spindle too.
    Thanks for any help/advice.

Get the red and paint them to any color you want.

As you could see in my signature, I like the red. But OME shocks and struts came in yellow. I sanded them and painted them red.

If I go that far, I'm switching the whole setup, to these (just the fronts). But $$$ matters. I've got other projects on her, that take precedence.

    Per Toytec

The red and the silver coils are both exactly the same spring rate so they should ride the identical

So you would consider going to a procomp shock from a toyotech? I thought these toyotech lifts were good?

OH! I was under the assumption the reds were less. I'll see if I can find that. I trust your word though. Thanks.

These are from Toytec. They're P.C/ Toytec combo. They rock. They're just a bit stiff.

You could try getting them re-valved to a softer setting. It's cheaper than buying a whole new setup. What are the spring rates on these, 600 or 700?

    Off subject for this but....
I'm getting all new brakes next week. My rig is @ 5". My guy says I need some brake line extensions. Would those line extensions you guys carry, be enough, for that height? I dont ever plan on going higher. tia.

    Hey guys,
I just noticed this today! Wondering if this could be a cause of why my setup feels rough, OR was it just over greased when installed?????
Just in case you can't tell....
The driver's side is shadowed w/ greasy film (only on the foward side).
    The passenger's side is spotless.
    What's your opinions?

Go get yourself a no loss pressure gauge and see what your nitrogen levels are at brother. If you don't wanna do that you can go to a off-road shop that can check your pressures. It looks like you're leaking oil.

Maybe 9-10 months. How would I hook up one of those pressure gauges to check the pressure in it?

Yea.... that was my first thought. May just swap them for a set of rebuildables anyways. Icons or the Pro Comp Black series. Thanks.

Is the spindle after market? When you begin mixing different parts together that can cause for a crap ride. Majority of the reports they receive on their suspension are solid...that being said, PC is sort of on the lower end as far as quality goes IMO.

Those coilovers are not user serviceable/rebuildable

There is no port. And even with coilovers that have a schrader, every time you check the pressure you lose 10-15 psi.

OP...the problem IMO is a 700 lb spring (and yes you have a 700...the code on the side of the spring says it's a 16" long spring, 3" ID, and 700#). That's too much for this truck unless you have a plate bumper and a winch. And the fact you don't have a front diff. I rock a 600 lb spring and my own valving and my truck rides like a damn caddy.

I have a "no loss" pressure checker. Doesn't lose any nitrogen pressure when checked, hence no loss lol. I'd go with the 600lb Spring tho, I have 700's and 20/10 valving on my kings, very stiff.

NAL is AFTER the shock is charged, not just checking the pressure. I have a NAL chuck on my nitrogen setup as well and intimately familiar with them. Just by putting on the NAL and closed valve, you still have to pressurize the gauge and whatever cavity you have in between the valve and NAL chuck. You can't do that without losing some nitrogen pressure, especially considering how small the nitrogen cavity is. It's not like checking the pressure a tire.
