    Hey All.

I'm going to color match the chrome pieces on my 2014 TRD Off Road. Can the chrome be painted or do I need to buy new end caps for my bumpers? I will be having this done professionally.

    Thanks
    Mark

Is vinyl wrap cheaper than powder coating? I can have both bumpers sand blasted and coated for around $400. @Sean266

Cost me like $100 or so for a guy to apply it.
I think only $40'ish was material.

Did you remove the bumper caps or did they wrap them while on the truck? Thinking about getting mine wrapped the first of the year.

You can get the vinyl in mgm. I'd have to look threw some threads but have read on hear that someone found some that was a near perfect match.

Wrapped all four bumper end caps for around $80 with shipping. I ordered a bunch of $1 samples and picked the closest one, and its about as close as it gets.

Thanks. Looks very nice. Trying to decide on either wrapping mine or line-xing them earlier next year.

I'm gonna follow this thread because I'm thinking of using plastidip as well. I've got a white 2011 and I think it'll hide easier since it's white.

So for those who don't know this, the chrome pieces are not easily paintable. I'm going to try platidip first but likely I'll buy the unpainted bumper caps and do it properly.

You don't think plastidip will hold up? I've never used it on my truck before but I've seen it on rims and it held up pretty good.

oh the plastidip will hold up fine i'm just not expecting to like the look. this thread wasn't really about plastidip, my really want is to get the parts painted properly. as a stated before if I had a white or black truck I'd go plastidip, but the grey isn't an exact match.

Awesome! Let me know how it turns out! I had a buddy that does window tint help me with the front and my dad and I did the rear bumper. It definitely takes two people. Also, be careful when using the heat gun as it will easily burn a hole or even rip the vinyl.

No, I did not remove the bumpers because you'll need to have them anchored to apply the vinyl (at the corners it requires stretching the vinyl to obtain no wrinkles). On the front I removed the fog lights and part of the inner fender that was attached to the bumper. On the rear I removed all bolts on the bottom and popped off the plastic that is on top just enough to get the vinyl underneath.
