hmm. take a look at this and make sure you've got the write gauge for the length and power needs.

In Spotify go to settings > music quality and set streaming to extreme. If it’s set to normal it’s not very good.

Yeah, they need 4 gauge for sure for each.

I’m listening to Spotify right now on my Apple ear buds and I’m hearing all the same crappy quality I’m getting through my speakers. I’m glad I noticed all of this before I kept buying speakers.

I’m upgrading the music quality on Spotify for sure.

Extreme is good but its still not cd quality. I did not really notice until i put the good sound system in my truck. If your head unit plays FLAC files get a Hi-Res version of a song and you will be amazed at the quality.

Yes on the 4ga! Hopefully that's the protect mode problem.

Might be worth it to go buy a cd (do they even sell those things any more?) of whatever song you heard that sounded like crap and see what it sounds like on a cd. If its crystal clear, you have found your problem.

A few things came in the last couple of days. The JL C2-650X came in on Wednesday and were already installed. Im pretty happy so far but have listened for a limited amount of time. Time will tell. Comparison below of those vs the Hertz DSK's that I removed.

I had to order my new power wire from Sonix Electronic because Crutchfield was out of stock of 4 gauge wire. I also ordered a Kicker battery terminal power outlet so I can run both power wires easily to the battery. I'll be running this on Sunday so both amps will have their own individual power sources. That should solve the cutting out problem on the Infinity speaker amp.

And my custom sub box FINALLY shipped from NetAudio. I cannot wait to get this hooked up.

Make sure your signal (rca) and power wires are on opposite sides of the truck.

Fix your power wire before changing the speakers. The hertz should be better then the jl. I listened to them all In the shop next to each other and the hertz where the best.

Edit I see you already switched them.

Could this be my issue? I have them all running together right now

It could be. You can get interferience when the power and signal are next to each other. If you have a spare set of rca's, plug them into the back of the HU, and just drape them down to the amp, see if that fixes your problem.

Not DC, normally you have issues with interference when you run signal wire and AC power in parallel. If you have to cross AC power with speaker wire, you do it perpendicular. I would check your grounding and connections.

I like the idea of eliminating components. You could use your phone to eliminate your HU. You will need a 3.5mm male to RCA ( https://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-3-5mm-Male-2-Male-Adapter/dp/B004YEBK66 ) and plug it into your amp. Your phone won't have the input levels the HU has, but you will know if the HU is causing your static problem. Bypassing the amp will take more work, as you will have to figure out how to jumper the cables from the HU to your speakers.

I’m considering ditching Bluetooth also and listening via Aux cord.

From reading it sounds like Bluetooh reduces audio quality.

It does to a point but not where you would be complaining about it as long as your source is good (Spotify extreme). Something is wrong with one of your components or the install. My hertz where the step up from yours but compared to the jl in the same price range they where much Better.

I moved the RCAs to be run down the center console to the Amp under the passenger seat. Still getting some static. I should be clear it’s very slight, but my ear is certainly drawn to it now that I have all this money into my system. There has to be a way to eliminate this.

I’ll try the cord right to my iPhone this week and see if I’m still getting it.

I have another couple of weeks under this 60 Day Satisfaction Guarantee from Crutchfield for this head unit. If I could narrow it down to that, that would be nice.

I unhook the rcas from the amp but keep it powered on. If it stops it’s your head unit. If it does not it’s your amp. Gain can be to high or you could have a fulty amp.

    My 2 cents:
Source audio is most important - great speakers with bad source sound like crap always.
Gain is not volume. Gain should bet set with special equipment and left alone after that. If you want less bass turn it down on the head unit
