To my knowledge, Fresno is the “Armpit of California”. Not bashing, but it’s inland.

I believe the fish/sushi was the transporter of the tapeworm that took up residence in the of the guys intestines/gut. Then it just feeds on him, there parasites. No expert here, not even close and not a raw fish or raw meat eater. Just an observation. Salmon carry tape worms, I wonder if tuna carry tape worms?

Properly handled sushi grade fish is no different then cooked fish. Cooked fish is no safer if it was improperly handled and prepared. YOLO

Four years in Japan. Ate a lot of Sashimi,( served without rice.) Outstanding food. Delicious actually. Especially the blue fin. Only a fool would eat some clearly uninspected raw knock off crap fish. Any decent sushi/sashimi restaurant either in Japan or US only buys the freshest of the fresh. I live in Denver. I don't eat sushi or sashimi here. I like to be able to see the source..IE...restaurant on pier. Millions of Japanese folks and hell of a lot of American GI's/tourists have no problem eating sushi/shashimi. Spend some time out of the states away from tourist traps ...you come to realize what a bunch of wusses we are when it comes to food. Got a coworker born and raised here, will not eat a cooked fish if the head is still on it..Wussy. :hungry:

Lots of the sushi I've seen here in Denver has cooked fish, shrimp, or wussy avocado. I'm sure there may be a couple decent places here in Denver that serve sushi and sashimi with properly prepared raw fish.. There is a difference. Sushi is finger food. Sashimi is thinly sliced raw meat served with wasabi and soy. I've had raw Wagyu beef in Japan.. Wow!! expensive as hell. More expensive than Kobe beef. Had whale sashimi. Crazy good. Do as the Romans do.Yeah I feel a little guilty eating whale. A little.... Sashimi [IMG] sushi.........[IMG]

I don’t really care for food that is too spicy, but wasabi, I will eat a shit ton of it with my fish. So damn good!
