Time to replace our mattress. I sleep only like 4-5 hours a night so the sleep i get is important. I've been seeing a lot of new direct to consumer companies popping up and wanted to know if anyone has gone that route. I'm willing to spend $4-5K on a new mattress, but don't want to if I don't need to.

I recently purchased a new Serta Icomfort hybrid

I looked into the mail order ones but reviews after 3 months didn't instill confidence in the purchase so I went to a mattress store and laid on proper mattresses and figured out what I wanted

I bought a tempurpedic mattress a few years ago and love it. We got lucky that there was some sort of trade show a week or two prior and the matress store was doing 30% off all the mattesses they had set up there that did not sell, still in origional plastic and everything. Still cost $3500, but worth a good night sleep.

We got a tempurpedic rhapsody breeze king and it was supposedly the firmest they had. Had it for 5 years now and i am just now getting used to it. A tad firmer would be better as when i sink in, it causes some back pain but thats probably because im 30 lbs overweight.

I got the intellibed. They offer 40% off for military, non toxic off gassing, it’s really comfortable. I have a messed up Back and neck and move a lot to get comfortable and I often don’t move on this bed. I just sleep on my left side.

Saatva luxury firm this time, so far pretty good. Most mattresses seem to only last 3-5 years anymore. I had the tempurpedic, after 5 years it was not comfortable. It eventually valleyed and no sleep position was comfortable, I am 190 lbs, 6", wife is 5'7 and 110 and we did rotate it. It just wore out.

I bought a sleep number about 2 years ago. Waited until they had their big sale. I have to say I really like it...at 6'2 right shy of 300 I eat mattresses like chicklets. This one has held up well. We had a high end gel mattress that I destroyed in 8 months.

My parents had a temperpedic and they loved it in winter but was too warm during summer.

I'm thinking our next one will be a sleep number.

I have had a sleep number for at least 3 years and love it. Seems to be holding up well and parts can be replaced separately if anything was to go wrong.

Just make sure there's a return policy for like 90 days. Sometimes it takes that long for you to realize the bed's causing back pain.

The mattress game is worse than the rim and tire game for our trucks. So many choices for the same thing.
I got the Leesa and love it. I’m 6’5, 250 and it handles me with no issues. Shows up to your door. Cut it open. Let it take shape. Sleep away. But so many mattresses out there now.
Check out some mattress review sites and they have discount codes also. Some even have 100 day return policies like leesa so if you don’t like it just get a refund and try another one.

All I can say is don't get memory foam. It killed my back, we went with an old school hard as rock mattress and my back never felt better.
