Are you sick and tired of pressing and holding that pesky traction control button twice every single time you start your truck? Let’s be real, it’s a lot of work disabling those nannies. We have better things to be doing than holding a button down! We just want full control, full power, and we like burnouts…oh and doughnuts too! Did you ever wish there was a way to automatically disable the traction control every time you start your truck and enable it when you wanted with the push of a button? Well now you can!!

It’s a simple wiring harness/trigger assembly that connects to two wires and a ground behind your dash via t-taps. I made myself one and have been testing for a few days. It basically simulates 2 button presses and holds but still maintains the ability to turn the nannies back on by pressing the traction control button at any time. It works absolutely flawlessly.

Price is $125 Payment will be made via PayPal, shipping will be $8 for USPS Priority. Payment can be sent via friends and family or add $4.65 to cover the fees.

Please let me know if you are interested. Here’s a video of the nannies disabling automatically. And a pic of the harness. Thank you!

Automatic Traction Control Disabler Install Instructions

-You are installing this device at your own risk. This device is only for off road use as it disables your vehicle’s traction control system automatically when you start your engine.

-Installation should be accomplished by a certified professional mechanic.

    IMG_6260.PNG.jpg

    To Install

-Disconnect the negative terminal on your battery

-Remove the left kick panel, lower dash panel, trailer brake controller, and traction control/tow haul mode/parking sensor switch panel that is just above the trailer brake controller.

    -Remove the cigarette lighter panel.

-Install one wire tap onto the brown wire on the trucks traction control switch wiring harness. Your wire may be a different color, some older years are yellow, regardless of color it will be the top wire on the plug as you are looking at it if it were connected to the switch. This is the signal wire. See pictures below.
    IMG_6216.jpg

    IMG_6223.jpg
-Connect the wire t tap connector that is on the white and orange wire on the traction control dissabler (labeled signal in the very first pic) to this t tap. The wire is blue in this pic above, it is not blue on your disabler, it is orange and white.

-Install the 2nd t-tap on the red wire that leads to your cigarette lighter and connect the remaining t-tap connector that is on the black wire to this t-tap. It is labeled power in the very first pic. This connections provides a 12V switched on power source to the traction control disabler.

    IMG_6218.jpg

-Loosen the 10mm bolt on your dash brace that is to the bottom left of the trailer break controller, slide the spade connector under the bolt head and tighten the bolt back down.
    IMG_6224.jpg

-temp install the trailer break controller and traction control/tow haul/parking sensor switch panel electrically

    -connect the negative battery terminal

-start the truck, the led's on both triggers should flash then turn off, nannies should turn off automatically at 9 seconds after the triggers receive power. Press the traction control button once and all nannies should turn on. To re-enable the disabler you will either have to restart the truck or come to a complete stop, press and hold the traction control button for 4 seconds, release, and press and hold again for another 4 seconds just like you normally would.

-check all other disturbed wiring that was disconnected for proper operation. Parking sensors, tow/haul mode, USB/cigarette lighter power, trailer break controller, etc.

-once everything works as advertised zip tie the triggers to the dash brace on the lower right corner of the dash next to the center console or another location of your choosing so they are secure and not bouncing around

    IMG_6225.jpg

-fully install trailer brake controller, and switch panel

-install lower dash panel, USB/cigarettes lighter panel, left kick panel

-you could also add a switch if you wanted to be able to disable the disabler

    what's your background Sting Ray?
how did you come up with this clever devise?
what is involved in connecting this up?
can a simple minded (stupid) carpenter perform this addition?

I'm an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force for the last 19 years. Now I'm an adult babysitter of aircraft mechanics lol. Before that I raced quads and dirt bikes. Rebuilt my first motor when I was about 9 years old lol. I found some info from about 10 years ago floating around on the net about these, got into contact with a guy that had experience doing the mod on an older truck so it was just a matter of figuring it out. It's as close to plug and play as it can get. You will have to use wire taps to tap into 2 wires. 1 for power, 1 for signal. Then attach a ground wire to a bolt under the dash. Install should take a normal person about an hour, and most of that time is spent removing and reinstalling the lower dash panels. Instructions are pretty detailed that I will send and of course I'll always be able to help should you run into an issue with install, or even after install for that matter.

This works great. I have been doing this for my customers since 2010. Glad to see someone has the time to put some together for sale. The only thing to keep in mind if you throw the truck into gear under three seconds of starting the process will get interupted. However most of us start our trucks then put on seat belts, check mirrors all things that take longer than 3 seconds. I originally was paid to do this MOD for a S/C 2010 5.7 DC whose owner wanted to do burn outs without having to push any buttons.

Interesting! Can it automatically turn tow/haul mode on also? or be added as a feature?

No unfortunately it only does the traction control, but I could probably design it to also do the haul ass mode button....pm me if you are seriously interested.
