Looking for a recommend for a front receiver. I'll use it for a bike rack.
What fits well and does not cause any access issues?

    This looks good:
    CURT Front Mount Hitch #31198

Mounting fairly easy. able to remount tow hooks which is a plus. Make sure to take off skid plate prior to install. Will have to modify the skid plate. I simply cut off the hooks and only use middle and rear bolts to remount plate.

Gotcha. I'm trying to figure if I need a 12" extension in order for my bicycle rack to clear the bumper.
Good idea on the skid plate.

Ended up getting the Curt Unit #31198. Looks like a well made piece. Question for anyone who did install this unit. Is it really necessary to enlarge the hole under the filter to 4"?

For the record. My Kuat bicycle rack would not clear the fr. bumper. It was close. I found a 8" extension and is what it is. I'm going to fine tune it with a chop saw but not bad not bad.

How does this affect ground clearance / approach angle? Does anybody know of a option without sacrifice?

I learn something new every day on this forum. I didn't even know that they make receiver hitches for a Tundra or for any vehicle for that matter.

So far the only options for a front receiver without sacrificing ground clearance/approach angle is a winch bumper with an optional front receiver. I guess that's a good excuse to get some real protection up front. I am still hopeful to get something less expensive and that doesn't weigh so much but hope is fading

The Curt 31198 has mounting bolts coming up from the bottom. My 2014 tow hook holes come in from the side I don’t see how that would fit a 14 and you’re 16 should be the same. This makes no sense. I’m working on sending some OME shocks back to CARID. they didn’t fit and they they said they would so I wanna make sure this fits.

most trucks come with a rear receiver hitch. It’s a front the OP is looking for. My grandfather had a front hitch bolted to his bumper 50 years ago for backing his boat in. I had that hitch in a box for a long Time.

I had an uncle that did this as well. Back when bumpers where steel he just drilled a hole for the ball mount and screwed it in.

    Bumping an old thread.

Has there been a hidden front hitch? I need to add a removable winch tray to my set up but don't want to lose the ground clearance.

It seems like it, but I'm talking to @OverlandRacksOntario to have one build, I want it sit as hidden winch bumper so I can use my winch cradle front or rear as needed.

I am going to go with a slight front hd adjustable coil over lift. Add the drawtite hitch but modify it with another receiver tube at each end. Then fab up a easily removable serious grill guard with crush zones that I can pin on in three tubes when I am pulling my travel trailer in risky areas. And it will also allow for winch tray use. Plus a bike rack and surf rod holders. Going to be busy. I cant find a grill guard that is both solid and includes crush cans in the mounting zone to absorb impact. Plus they are not easily removable. No cheap ass flimsy nice looking crap going on my truck that I need to get back home in!

You can do the draw tite and get back lost ground clearance with more suspension lift. A bumper is not the only option. Plus a larger diameter tire may be possible to gain some.

    1 or 2... I lost count
I saw one that could be adapted in a thread a while back but could not for the life of me find the thread. But I finally found it https://www.tundras.com/threads/hidden-winch-mounts.19724/ post #25 a guy had a custom made winch plate that could just as easily be just a receiver that pokes out of the bumper. Not really a product for you but if you have a local shop they might be able to fab one for you.

Will I have to cut the skid plate to mount a Draw-Tite front hitch receiver on my 2021 Crewmax 4x4?

Looking for something that can handle a 12k tow winch.

My truck is a 2012 DC

I got one second hand from my uncle and not sure the brand of winch right now but I know it can be mounted on a rear receiver and I was looking for something to be able to switch it from front to back depending on the situation.

Having a hard time finding anything. Any tips? I believe it will fit a 2” receiver.
