hello everyone, new to this site and looking for some advice! Found a used rock warrior but has almost 100k miles and they still want $30K. Looks to be very well maintained, new tires and brakes within the last couple months, passed Toyota service inspection (whatever that means) and very clean. Just wondering if the miles on a truck like this are a concern or not since it's the supercharged engine. Thanks!!!

Welcome! Did Toyota say it's pre-certified? If so, that's good news based on their detailed inspection and warranty related items IMO.

$30k is a lot for 100k on the odometer. I presume they raised the price on that due to the S/C install as Toyota stopped making them. There is an after market one available though.

Didn't say if it was certified but I assume they can't actually certify something with that kind of mileage. All they said was it passed their "certified inspection" with flying colors.

Everyone is going to have their own opinion, and yours is most important, but here is mine.

No way. For a bit more you can find a clean certified used Tundra with around 30k miles.

Unless the supercharger is something you really want, the 5.7 has more than enough power. I love the Rock Warriors, 1st gens, 2nd gens, and the 3rd gens, but I do like the dash and interior of the 3rd gens the best, if anything for the full screen rear view camera (comparing to non navi 2nd gens screen in the rear view). You can probably get in a certified 3rd gen with some type of warranty.

I have faith in the reliability of our trucks, but if I could spend the same amount and get one that isn't supercharged but has 70k less miles, I would.

You can always add a supercharger down the road if you really want to! I rarely step on it in my truck, but when I do, that 5.7 surprises me.

Thanks for the thoughts! Would there be a $$$ you would pay for one like this? NADA was around $27K but that doesn't change the situation much.

It's really hard to say.... I would compare similar trucks in the area and add a few grand for the SC.

There was a new Tundra dealer near us (4wd, 5.7, TRD, 2015 with only a few miles, and the owner added a couple of decals, TRDPro badge, 6"lift, wheels, tires, amp research steps, and a S/C..

    Price? $68k

$30K sounds good now. 100K miles isn't crazy stupid for these engines. I was wondering if there are comprehensive service records for the Rock Warrior in question?

Camburg Fox factory 2.5" lift Xd monsters with 295/70/18 nitto terra graplerrs Corsa cat back Weather tech liners Wet okole covers
I paid 27k for my 12 sr5. Came with a camburg 2 1/2-3" lift."fox coilovers and camburg uca's with fox shocks on the rear". Wet ocola seat covers front and rear Weather techs front and back. Monster wheels and nitto terra grapplers Corsa exhaust brake controller and had 19,000 miles. No s/c but no way I would pay anywhere near 30k for a truck with 100k on it even if it was a diesel.

Here in Denver, all brands of 4X4s go for a premium. Especially Tacomas and Tundras. Not unusual at all to see Tundras with over 100K go for over 25K and up. Try to find them at a dealer here. Dealers will pay big bucks for your used Taco or Tundra. They move fast on the lot. My 07 has only 63K and I still could ask private sale $27K easily with current upgrades. It's all about supply and demand.

    Example, 126K for $25K: https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5346636529.html

    128K mile, $26K :https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/5328846848.html

    92K miles, $27K: https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/5342330007.html

    one more, 100K miles, $25K, no S/C:https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/5310998799.html

None of these have S/C's and will sell quickly. A Tundra with S/C ,with 100K miles will disappear in one day here in Denver for only $30K (with S/C)

Tacos and Tundras with good certifiable records go for more than NADA and KBB. Google Stevinson's West and East dealers and see what few Tacos and Tundra they have go for. You will be shocked. After all we have the Rocky Mountains with old mining roads that are over 130 years old. Some of the best 4 wheeling on the planet.
