Right on - let me know next time you come up to phx. I’m in Gilbert and so are a bunch of other good folks. Happy Hour meetup maybe if you have time.

I wonder how those springs will respond to the longer shackle. I’m interested in your results for sure. And thanks for posting their option descriptions!

Think of it this way, AZ is the sister state of CA but cost of living is a fraction of the cost. Plus I'm in AZ so why is this even a question?!!?

Finding a job would be the first step. Do you have contacts down there that might prove fruitful? If so, i'm gonna take a serious look. If not, i'm still going to take a serious look. You're in Tuscon, right? How far is that from Flagstaff? My son needs a ski hill

We're from CA (Sacramento area) and visit friends and relatives often. All they talk about is how they're going to get from point A to point B in the least amount of traffic, how they're getting taxed out the A$$, and how they can't wait to retire and get the F out of there.

The only thing we miss, even after 20+ years is the water recreation. Other than that, you can have it.

Depends on what line of work you are in... I live in Tucson, work for a firm based out of Columbus, OH, and service clients all across the country. I do have strong ties with the Universities in AZ...

Flagstaff is about ~3 hours north

Even the water rec there was becoming way too crowded no matter where you went by the time I split in 2004.

We have plenty of lakes around. We go to Apache and Roosevelt, a few hours from Tucson, many time throughout the year.. that's right, throughout the year since the weather is sooo nice.

The reason i was thinking CA was to chase the NorCal crew and find me some ski hills....maybe move back to Tahoe was my thought process. But, then again, it's incredibly expensive and the CO mountains have kinda burned me out on the high cost of living thang

NorCal is nice. The further away from SF the better, like way north near Oregon border, east or west.Think Shasta...:thumbsup::thumbsup:

People love it. We loved it when we were there and thought seriously about moving back but things change. No way would I move back now.

You'll need to make some damn good money to make it worthwhile.

Housing is ridiculously expensive. We're getting ready to list my deceased BIL's house. 3 bdrm, 1 bath, about 1200 sqft in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood. $325k

Yeah, the weather's nice but it's pretty darn nice here too.

AZ>CA any day. Used to live in SoCal and still love to visit, but that’s it. We’ll never live there again. Plus it’s so easy to get there from here for the fun stuff.

Phoenix is closer than Tucson to good skiing/boarding and also the lakes. I still want to try it, but from Phoenix you could go surfing, water skiing and snow skiing in the same day. I’m sure you could do the same in Cali, but not with machine guns and it would cost three times as much.

Too be honest, I would totally move back to SoCal. I was born and raised near Anaheim. The wife and I actually talked about it for awhile but then we realized it would require us to give up the life that we have here in AZ and that convo ended real fast lol

SoCal is super nice and I would love to live there if 1. I didn't have to work, and 2. If I had a ton of money.

My dad was from Escondido and we spent a lot of time there with my grandparents. Nobody is left there now. All my cousins have moved (Vegas, Queen Creek, Arkansas and Idaho). When we were WAY younger we would go to the beach all the time. Everybody grew up, got married, had kids and life just got in the way. Commutes turned into 1hr to go 12 mile ordeals and they all just left because it wasn't worth it anymore. All of them are much happier where they are now and all have been out of CA for at least 10-15 years now.

Day to day living is just harder there, especially if you have to work and have any kind of commute.
