I tried....and failed. Looks like I will just have to go get a CZ on my own.

But seriously, well done in the new position. I’m sure it is well deserved.

I retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2004 after serving for 23 years. (Gulf Wars 1&2; Iraqi Freedom; War on Terror) I was a sr. Intelligence Analyst; Special Operations Crewmember (MC-130 Combat Talon); First Sergeant (even though I was an Intel guy, I was stationed with a Space Squadron my last few years so even got qualified as a Space Operator).

In 2004, retired and went into the defense contract world working for Northrop Grumman at Schriever AFB at the Missile Defense Agency. (Black and Red network administrator.) I got promoted to group manager and switched to another defense contractor, Boecore, in 2012. Last year, I moved over to a different contract at Peterson AFB as Quality Assurance Lead and Integration and Test Engineer. 'Just turned 55 so on-track to get the house paid off in about 7 years so hopefully I'll be able to either retire for good or just work part-time until I get to 67...we'll see! (So not spending a lot of "extra" to fix up Tundy...putting most of the extra $$ on the mortgage.)

I bet you worked with my BIL.

Looks like a hell of a career you had there. Good times.

Runs like a deere, smells like a john??

Seriously though, support for Deere ag equipment is second to none around these parts. Partly an awesome local dealer, partly great parts catalog systems and distribution.

I had a Deere 2310 tractor, 1973 best I could figure. I could have parts delivered free to a local drop-off (small farming town, dealer is an hour away) and they were readily available for a 40+ year old machine.

Yep, Dad was a Vietnam vet (US Army Signal Corps) and did three tours in 'Nam and Cambodia and raised us boys to work hard. The Army screwed with him too much, though, and he advised me to join either the Navy or Air Force in 1982.

I've worked since I was 15 and recently checked my social security history and discovered my first boss must not've reported my taxes to the IRS....it shows I didn't earn anything. (I think I was only making minimum student wage, $2.15, in the late-70's but, still, that's messed up...jerk)

Oh yeah. It was a little corner market that sold a LOT of beer...I was a stockboy. It ended up closing down and the last time I was home they were tearing it down to build an apartment building.
